∎ Master’s degree in Communications, Development Studies, Journalism, Political Science, or relevant field.

∎ Experience working on social justice, gender equality, civic engagement, or governance reform projects.
∎ Prior experience engaging media and designing rights-based communication tools for marginalized audiences.
∎ Strong writing, storytelling, and editing skills in Bangla and English.
∎ Demonstrated ability to translate complex policy issues into clear, impactful messages.
∎ Proficiency in designing digital content using tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar platforms.
∎ Experience with community mobilization and participatory communication methods.
∎ Excellent public speaking, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and adapt messaging to sensitive sociopolitical contexts.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead development of an advocacy strategy focused on civic engagement, gender-responsive governance, and Dalit inclusion.
∎ Facilitate stakeholder alignment workshops, annual advocacy forums, and dialogues with government bodies.
∎ Oversee development and dissemination of policy briefs on civic participation and inclusion.
∎ Coordinate the Model Union initiative’s policy component and the evidence-based advocacy derived from community engagement and research.
∎ Design and implement multi-platform communication campaigns to promote active citizenship, inclusive governance, and gender equality.
∎ Ensure messaging is culturally sensitive, accessible, and aligned with the realities of Dalit and marginalized communities.
∎ Produce visually engaging content including posters, social media content, brochures, community theatre scripts, and digital storytelling materials.
∎ Build and manage relationships with local and national media outlets to amplify community voices and policy asks.
∎ Facilitate media coverage of public events including courtyard meetings, dialogues, and youth committee activities.
∎ Support youth and community representatives in preparing for media interactions and public forums.
∎ Provide communications input in the development and rollout of a mobile grievance redressal application.
∎ Strengthen the digital presence of the project through timely updates on DALIT’s website, social media, and partner platforms.
∎ Ensure that civic education materials are digitized and accessible to remote communities.
∎ Train Civic Engagement Youth Committee members on strategic communication, media interaction, and advocacy messaging.
∎ Support interns in communication and advocacy projects that amplify community innovation.
∎ Track progress of advocacy and communications outputs and outcomes; contribute to donor reports and project documentation.
∎ Document success stories, human-interest narratives, and community voices for publication and reporting.
∎ The Advocacy and Communications Officer will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of all advocacy, public engagement, and communications activities across the project. S/he will ensure inclusive messaging, foster partnerships with media and civil society actors, and facilitate dialogue between citizens and government actors to promote policy inclusion and systemic accountability.

∎ Stationed in Khulna with frequent travel to field areas (Bajua, Banishanta, Loudobe).
∎ May require working flexible hours, including weekends or evenings during campaign events and dialogues.
