Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop and implement advocacy strategies to promote the rights and welfare of Dalit women and girls in alignment with project objectives.
∎ Conduct policy analysis and engage with stakeholders to influence the creation and implementation of inclusive policies.
∎ Facilitate awareness campaigns, public forums, and community events to raise awareness about the rights of Dalit communities.
∎ Lead research initiatives to generate evidence and prepare reports, briefs, and other advocacy materials.
∎ Build and maintain networks with civil society organizations, government agencies, and media to amplify advocacy efforts.
∎ Conduct training sessions and capacity-building workshops for community leaders and beneficiaries.
∎ Monitor the impact of advocacy activities and ensure the timely reporting of outcomes and lessons learned.
∎ Develop communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, and social media content to support advocacy objectives.
∎ Integrate gender and social inclusion principles into all advocacy initiatives.
∎ Produce quality reports and develop IEC materials as required.
∎ Undertake any other assignments as delegated by the organization.
∎ Job Context:
∎ The human rights and development organization 'Nagorik Uddyog' has been working for the empowerment of the disadvantaged sections of the Bangladeshi population as a programmatic strategy for achieving its vision of a self-sustained egalitarian society. The organization will start implementing the new phase of the project titled ‘Promoting the Rights of Dalit Women and Girls through Awareness and Facilitating the Access to Basic Services’ from 1 January 2025, which will continue till 31 December 2027. The project mainly focuses on bringing positive changes in the life and livelihood of Dalit women and children in the selected project locations through implementing designed interventions. Nagorik Uddyog is looking for a capable individual for the position of 'Advocacy Officer' who will mainly be responsible for planning and carrying out advocacy activities planned under the project based on research and evidence generation.
