Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Oversee the daily operation and maintenance activities of all electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring smooth functionality across all designated buildings.
∎ Apply in-depth technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex electro-mechanical issues efficiently and effectively.
∎ Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of engineers and technicians. Provide ongoing training, performance monitoring, and capacity development initiatives to maintain a high-performing team.
∎ Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to reduce system failures and extend the life of critical assets such as generators, HVAC, elevators, and substations.
∎ Ensure timely inspection, servicing, and repairs of all electrical and mechanical systems. Maintain operational readiness of key infrastructure, including emergency backup systems.
∎ Ensure strict adherence to BNBC, government regulations, safety protocols, and international standards regarding electrical and mechanical operations.
∎ Assist in preparing departmental budgets. Monitor maintenance costs, identify savings opportunities, and ensure efficient utilization of resources without compromising service quality.
∎ Engage with external vendors and service providers for maintenance contracts. Evaluate performance, negotiate agreements, and ensure timely, high-quality service delivery.
∎ Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment service logs, and vendor performance. Generate regular reports on system uptime, maintenance KPIs, costs, and incidents.
∎ Coordinate with other departments including Construction, Procurement, and Enterprises for technical support, project execution, and electro-mechanical procurement initiatives. Represent the department in internal committees as needed.
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ Job Purpose: In planning & managing to look after the operation & maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing services. This position will be worked as backup of the Additional Chief Engineer, Maintenance. Responsibility of the position will also be smooth operation of all useful services for the building and successful completion of any maintenance work through competent team.
