Educational Requirements:
∎ LL.B. (Hon's) or LL.M. from any reputed University/Institutions with all second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in academic examinations.

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Closely coordinate with UNHCR Legal Protection to ensure quality, timely and effective delivery of legal assistance and awareness to persons of concern (PoCs)
∎ Provide legal counseling and advice to PoCs on legal matters/issues
∎ Assist Legal officer to support to PoC at police stations and courts Facilitate and conduct legal awareness sessions for refugees in the camps including community, refugee leaders and religious leaders and maintain proper filling and report.
∎ Assist Legal officer to conduct mediation to resolve dispute disputes among PoCs and follow up on settlement of disputes resolved and maintain mediation files and records. Inform parties of the next convenient date of the mediation by consulting with the legal officer.
∎ Assisting in drafting complaints, FIR, GD and cases at police stations and courts. Draft various applications, prepare and preserve relevant documents, etc. which is required.
∎ Conduct visits to detention centers and advocate or intervene with law enforcement agencies including police and courts to release PoCs held in detention where appropriate with the supervision of Legal Officer.
∎ Inform and facilitate PoCs to attend court when required
∎ Organize prison visits for refugees to visit immediate/close family members in prison
∎ Collaborate with the police to rescue refugees who are victims of human trafficking or smuggling and offer legal support to the victims
∎ Facilitate and conduct training and build capacity for project staff and refugee volunteers (paralegals) on legal assistance
∎ Maintain effective interfaces and coordinate with PoCs, local authorities, protection and assistance partners to ensure PoCs access legal assistance and remedies and their needs and appropriate responses are identified.
∎ Attend coordination, protection, and other meetings, as may be required, at camp level as back up legal officer.
∎ Participate in initiatives to capacitate authorities, relevant institutions, assistance and protection partners to improve access of justice to PoCs
∎ Record keeping- register maintain/ form fill up/file maintain in a systematic fashion. Properly preserve the related documents and the record book of necessary mediation information as per SOP issued by UNHCR. Maintain all necessary books and records provided by the office regularly and accurately.
∎ Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents
∎ Search for and examine public and other records of case and draft legal opinion
∎ Prepare monthly/quarterly/half-yearly/yearly legal statements/ reports and work plan as per guideline
∎ Follow-up activities of Para-legal volunteers. Keep a record of cases in a systematic fashion and prepare a report on each case. Monthly reports and other reports shall be prepared in a timely manner.
∎ Notify the relevant refugees about the court hearing date so that refugees are present in their time and ensure safe transportation of the refugees from camps to the court and return to the camps, including securing of camp pass. Keep confidentiality of the information. Collect and provide the necessary information by proper guidance from the beneficiary.
∎ Maintain communication with concerned CiC, APBn post, other stakeholders, Block-Majhee /Sub-Majhee, Head-Majhee as required.
∎ Perform administrative and management functions
∎ Perform other related duties as required
∎ The other additional job responsibilities are to be assigned as and when required as per the direct instruction of the Manager.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Women are encouraged to apply.
∎ Familiar with GBV case management and experience working with refugee
∎ Must adhere to GBV/CP Core Guiding Principles and international humanitarian principles and standards for GBViE/ CPiE
∎ Cultural awareness and sensitivity, prior experience in Rohingya camps is preferable
∎ Strong background and skills in facilitating trainings, coaching and mentoring others
∎ Experience in program/project management;
∎ IT literate with knowledge of MS word, Excel and internet programs.
∎ Able to travel frequently at different project location
∎ Applicants,the residence of Chattogram and Cox's Bazar will be given preference.
∎ Flexibility to handle varied and demanding task and ability to balance priorities.
∎ Drafting and reporting skills, accuracy in document production.
∎ Knowledge of English and Bangla. Excellent English drafting and reporting skills are required.
