Job Context:
∎ Reporting: This position reports to the Chief of Party
∎ It is expected that the Expert will work no more than 30 days on this assignment for a period until June 30, 2023. The Expert will only be compensated for days agreed in writing by PPJ and when a written report is submitted on-time and of an acceptable quality. The Expert will be paid monthly against a timesheet. If travel is required, PPJ will bear the travel expenses in accordance with its official policy.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Attend trainings, events, and workshops (virtually or in-person) and prepare summaries of the events in English no more than one page in length, sometimes with a turnaround time of one day.
∎ Work with PPJ staff members to prepare case studies of successes, including helping to develop the case study and translating into English.
∎ Identify ways that PPJ can better communicate and showcase its work
∎ Democracy International seeks to hire a consultant to serve as a Bi-Lingual Communications Expert (the “Expert”) to effectively report on its activities through PPJ, including trainings with government and other partners and events by its subgrantee partners.
∎ The Expert will also be expected to showcase the successes of PPJ through case studies and other means.
∎ The Expert may also be requested to undertake other communications related tasks.
∎ The Expert must be fluent in both Bangla and English, as most of the activities will be in Bangla and the reporting in English.
∎ The Expert must also be willing to travel and adhere to tight deadlines.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Fluency in Bangla and English
∎ Excellent English writing skills
∎ Experience with communications
∎ Knowledge of the Bangladesh justice system preferred
∎ Experience working with vulnerable and marginalized groups in Bangladesh preferred
