∎ • Bachelor in Biomedical technician, Electrical and Electronics are essential
∎ • Master in Biomedical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering are Preferred

∎ • Minimum 2 years Practical experience (e.g. Hospital maintenance in charge) is essential
∎ • Pedagogical skills are an asset
∎ • Fluency in English and Bangla Is essential. Fluency in Chittagonian dialect or Rohingya language Is preferred
∎ • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).
∎ • Know and understand all the biomedical devices present on the project(s) including the operating principle, use and technical documentation, of each biomedical equipment on the project/mission

Requirements:
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Performing autonomously and following up, the maintenance, and correct repair of the biomed equipment in the project/mission and ensuring regularly that the usual medical maintenance and cleaning are done properly according to MSF standards and procedures, in order to ensure the equipment are in perfect running conditions.
∎ • Performing and carrying out, all necessary complex / advanced installation, maintenance and repair of MSF biomedical equipment and ensuring that as few items are out of service at any given time. This includes the following tasks :
∎ • Organizing and participating in the installation of biomedical equipment
∎ • Following the schedule and carrying out preventive and curative maintenance works for the equipment according to the MSF and/or manufacturer's protocols, manuals, and recommendations and ensuring that cleaning and simple maintenance are properly carried out by medical staff
∎ • Reporting any issues or problems on biomed equipment to his/her supervisor and proposing solutions (training of staff on a device, operating procedures, etc.). If maintenance work requires further assistance, documentation or additional tools, this shall be requested from and provided by his/her supervisor.
∎ • Participating in organising user training where required
∎ • Managing the stock of consumable items, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories, executing orders necessary for renewing stock, avoiding any shortage
∎ • Responsible for the equipment and tools (including extinguishers), checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory updated.
∎ • Keeping working area clean and tidy.
∎ • Ensuring that all record sheets, and books related to maintenance are always completed (including date of intervention, replaced parts, problems and solutions) and preparing needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance
∎ The Biomedical Technician is expected to demonstrate a high level of technical competence and autonomy in carrying out essential tasks.
∎ The role requires the implementation of policies, tools, and processes independently, with minimal supervision and no major mistakes.
∎ The technician is proactive in proposing improvements and calls for assistance only when dealing with complex or unfamiliar issues.
∎ Preventive Maintenance Execution:
∎ • Ability to independently perform scheduled preventive maintenance on a wide range of medical and technical equipment, in accordance with established protocols and standards.
∎ • Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, reports, and observations.
∎ • Identify early signs of equipment wear or malfunction and propose improvements to routine procedures.
∎ Spare Parts Management
∎ • Competent in assessing, tracking, and forecasting spare part needs during maintenance or repair operations.
∎ • Maintain updated records of spare parts usage and effectively communicate with logistics and procurement to ensure timely replenishment.
∎ • Suggest cost-effective alternatives or local sourcing options when appropriate.
∎ Functional Testing of Equipment
∎ • Skilled in conducting functional tests on high-use biomedical equipment (e.g., oxygen concentrators, suction machines, sterilizers, laboratory equipment) following standard testing protocols.
∎ • Ability to identify deviations in performance, report findings, and recommend enhancements to testing procedures or documentation.
∎ Diagnostics and Basic Repairs
∎ • Capable of diagnosing and repairing simple and common equipment malfunctions and identifying and diagnosing complex malfunctions using technical documentation, manuals, internet research and logical troubleshooting methods.
∎ • Accurately document diagnostics and repair activities.
∎ • Demonstrates sound judgment in escalating complex issues and actively contributes to reducing recurrence of common faults through feedback and recommendations.
∎ • Conduct biomedical training for medical and support staff as required, to ensure proper use, basic maintenance, and safety of medical equipment.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ It’s a Temporary contract for eighteen (18) months. Salary according to level Five (5) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 56,000 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.
∎ There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
