∎ Collaborate with various teams to resolve fabric-related issues and provide technical guidance.
∎ Identify and resolve fabric-related quality issues before production input, addressing issues like shrinkage mismatch, curling, or shade variation.
∎ Solve fabric-related issues during cutting or sewing.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Have to make sure the consumption of fabric is perfect.
∎ Determine the best layout of pattern pieces to minimize material waste, and mark fabric accordingly.
∎ Good understanding of pattern direction, fabric selection, proto, and tech packs preparation as per the instructions of buyers.
∎ Good understanding of pattern Grading.
∎ Practical Experience on Pattern, Marker making & finding out consumption.
∎ Strong knowledge of fabric types, cutting techniques.
∎ Analyze and plan for fabric shrinkage, shade variation, and special fabric requirements.
∎ Review markers received from the CAD/marker team for optimal fabric utilization.
∎ Approve markers for bulk cutting, ensuring proper grain line, pattern alignment, and matching requirements (stripes, checks, etc.).
∎ Optimize fabric usage to minimize wastage without compromising quality.
∎ Identify root causes of excess consumption or fabric loss and implement corrective actions.
∎ Identify defects in fabric or cutting errors and take immediate corrective measures.
∎ Communicate and coordinate with the Factories: (Cutting, merchandisers, technicians) and suppliers to reach the best consumption with quality and efficiency.
∎ Support and advise the team to find the best solution to reduce fabric wastage and to achieve maximum fabric use.
