∎ SCI seeks qualified candidates for the anticipated FCDO-funded Ecosystem-Based Adaptation in Ecologically Critical Areas of Bangladesh project.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The opportunity:
∎ The Chief of Party (COP) will lead and manage, a 5 year comprehensive and multi-sectoral programme to manage and deliver a climate change adaptation project in three designated Ecologically Critical Areas (ECAs) of Bangladesh. The COP will provide overall management, leadership, technical guidance and support to the critical programme management functions, including Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), communication, and learning, and will work with all the coalition partners to ensure a consistent approach to implementation and technical quality. S/he will be accountable for both the quality of interventions as well as their effective financial and operational management; and serve as the primary liaison and programme representative with Government of Bangladesh, donors, partner agencies and local institutions and communities. S/he will also be responsible for ensuring coordination between all relevant government line ministries, UN organizations (UNICEF, FAO, WFP etc) and all other strategic partners/key stakeholders.
∎ The COP will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team hired by the Save the Children-led coalition agencies. S/he will be responsible for virtual and matrix management between Field and Country Offices to deliver programme objectives set out in the donor ToR, the programme's technical and commercial proposals, and the logical framework. S/he will report to the Director-Humanitarian of Save the Children, and also liaise on a regular basis with the relevant SC UK Programme Manager for Bangladesh.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years of progressively advanced management experience in field-based multi-disciplinary programming encompassing climate adaptation, conservation and livelihoods.
∎ Sound knowledge and experience of nutrition/health/food security programming and its challenges (situations where populations suffer from medium to long-term chronic food insecurity and recurrent economic or social vulnerability).
∎ Prior experience of delivering large scale climate adaptation, conservation or community-based development programmes, preferably those of FCDO;
∎ Experience of working with FCDO monitoring and reporting systems
∎ Experience in successfully establishing and managing collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders and partnerships with donors and government counterparts at the senior level;
∎ Proven ability to manage consortia with preferably 4 years' experience managing multi-agency programmes;
∎ Demonstrated leadership and management skills in a complex international setting;
∎ Sound understanding of different methodologies of M&E and operational research; and experience in developing integrated M&E and Learning systems;
∎ Proven experience of managing large multi-million GBP budgets and management of risk;
∎ Proven ability to lead, motivate, retain and manage a leading multi-disciplinary professionals;
∎ Commitment to the values, missions, aims and policies of SCI and the project coalition partners;
∎ Highly diplomatic and emotionally intelligent with strong oral and written communication skills;
∎ Strong knowledge of the Bangladesh context and priorities in climate change and livelihoods.
