Job Context:
∎ As Child Protection Officer, you are responsible for quality, effective and efficient management of all Multipurpose centres to mobilise community around the protection and well-being of all children, parent/ caregiver and driven child protection community-based mechanism to support community-led child protection and will also be responsible for maintaining strong coordination with CIC and other government staff of your respective camp as RI CP Focal. You will be responsible for contributes towards achieving the program goal of respond to the child protection needs in refugee camps and host communities.
∎ She/he directly supervise child protection program associates and provide technical support to Child Protection Assistants to implement CP activities in Multipurpose Centres. The incumbent ensure child protection interventions followed by child protection principles, CPMS, and RI child Protection policy.

∎ Contract length: Up to 31st December, 2022 (With possibility of Extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the guidance of the Child Protection Coordinator, the Child Protection Officer will be responsible for-
∎ Planning, monitoring and leading MPC, community led child protection activities regularly; ensuring appropriate implementation of activities in line with agreed proposal and plan.
∎ Conducting need assessment of children in camp areas to identify the child protection issues.
∎ Supervises the Child Protection Associates and provide leadership in the monitoring, evaluation, assessment and learning of CP Multipurpose centres, refugee and host community on a regular basis, ensuring that activities are implemented in an appropriate manner.
∎ Provides Monthly report, training/workshop report, input data in log frame and activity info and any other relevant reports with detailed information regarding activities on a daily/weekly/monthly basis (beneficiaries’ attendance with breakdown by gender and age, activities carried out, issues affecting programme delivery, material needs) to CP Coordinator.
∎ Develop capacity building plan of team members, provide on the job supervision, mentoring and monitor the performance of team members. Organize training based on team needs or linking with them to training opportunities.
∎ Ensure quality implementation of CP activities, including contribution to the development of technical tools and materials (PSS, community-based outreach, Adolescent Skill Development, Gender).
∎ Ensure documentation of training attendance, material distribution master roll, assessment report of CBCBG and Adolescents support group and any other documents recommended by supervisor.
∎ Ensure strong coordination with CIC and other government staff of respective camp as RI CP Focal and prepare and submit all necessary documents like need assessment, project completion report, monthly progress report in CIC Office in collaboration with Learning and Assessment Officer, Govt. Liaison Officer and Field Coordinator.
∎ Attending Camp Coordination Meeting, Protection Coordination meeting and other camp level meeting in CIC office.
∎ Work in close collaboration with the CP CMO to strengthen relationship with the community and to strengthen the referral system.
∎ Promote staff care through supporting team members to positively address disagreement and resolve disputes.
∎ Organize regular monthly meeting with CP Program Associates and CP Assistant and share meeting minutes & action plan to Child Protection Coordinator.
∎ Ensures that Child Protection Policy and standards are understood and met and ensures a safe and child-friendly atmosphere in the Child Friendly Space.
∎ Support establishment of community-based child protection mechanism and adolescent group/leader.
∎ Develop monthly work plans in advance and present to CP coordinator and Protection Program Manager.
∎ Collaborate within RI protection department and other department of RI including finance, logistic and operation.
∎ Ensure recognized international best practices and Relief International policies are applied in the work with children.
∎ Upon the request of supervisor, represent the Child Protection program in external meetings and workshops.
∎ Any other responsibilities requested by supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Demonstrate strong knowledge of child protection minimum standard, community-based child protection mechanism, mental health and psychosocial support, gender sensitivity, participatory approach.
∎ 3 years’ experience working with NGO in Cox’s bazar is preferable.
∎ Previous experience managerial and supervisory.
∎ Good knowledge of local context, strongly preferred.
∎ Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and support unexpected task.
∎ Enthusiasm to learn.
∎ Optimistic and friendly.
∎ Flexibility.
∎ Excellent communication skill in English and Bangali.
∎ Good command in Rohingya, an asset.

Salary:
∎ As per RI National Pay Scale Policy in Bangladesh.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Weekly 2 holidays, Insurance
∎ Two festival bonuses in a year equivalent to one Gross salary.
∎ Severance (8.33% of the monthly Gross salary) goes with the monthly release of the salary
