Requirements:

Additional Requirements:
∎ Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), Bengali and English.
∎ Proven experience as an interpreter or translator is preferred.
∎ Strong speaking, listening, reading, writing, communication, and memory skills.
∎ Good grasp of cultural nuances and etiquette.
∎ Expert in computer works (e.g. MS Office, Google Workspace).
∎ Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
∎ Professional certification in interpretation is a plus (e.g., NAATI, ATA, etc.).
∎ Proficiency in using interpretation equipment (for simultaneous interpreting roles) is a plus.
∎ Attention to detail and accuracy.
∎ Accurate responding capability.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Interpret spoken Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) to Bengali & English (and vice versa) during meetings, calls, conferences, interviews, and events.
∎ Accurately translate conversations, ensuring the meaning, tone, and context are preserved.
∎ Assist with written translation of documents, emails, reports, and official correspondence if needed.
∎ Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
∎ Prepare for interpreting sessions by researching topics and terminologies in advance.
∎ Provide cultural context to communication when necessary to aid understanding.
∎ Support team members with communication tasks during business operations.
∎ Maintain professionalism and respect cultural differences at all times.
∎ Perform consecutive, simultaneous, or whispered interpretation, depending on the situation's requirements.
∎ Travel to different locations (if necessary) for onsite interpretation assignments
∎ Maria Enterprise, a eco-friendly business pioneer in Bangladesh, is seeking a skilled Chinese Interpreter to facilitate effective communication between Chinese-speaking and non-Chinese-speaking individuals. The interpreter will provide real-time language interpretation in meetings, conferences, and business transactions, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate communication. This post is valid until final selection of candidates.
