Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The DASCOH Foundation is seeking a dynamic Community Development Organiser to augment its team for the "Thriving through Equity, Economic Empowerment and Climate Resilience (THRIVE) Project." The THRIVE project is a multidimensional initiative, supported by HEEKS/EPER Bangladesh, aims to catalyse positive change in marginalized communities. The primary mandate of this role is to facilitate and execute the ongoing interventions of the "THRIVE" project. Specifically, the Community Development Organiser (CDO) will play a pivotal role in mobilizing, motivating, and empowering Dalit and Adivasi communities, fostering their growth and enhancing their livelihoods, and to ensure equal rights and entitlement of socially excluded and marginalized communities. This entails a multifaceted approach, including proactive engagement in data collection, leading diverse youth development initiatives, and coordinating the integration of project participants into sustainable livelihood programs. Moreover, building and connecting robust partnerships with stakeholders is paramount to ensure the project's success. Ultimately, the overarching objective is to streamline the of rights holders to essential government social safety net programs, thereby fostering greater equity and resilience within these communities.

∎ Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct comprehensive baseline surveys to identify households eligible for project participation using project supported tools and software and PRA methodologies.
∎ Provide capacity building and supportive supervision to Community Volunteers within the catchment area to enhance their skill, effectiveness and smooth program implementation.
∎ Assist project participants to identify potential IGAs and enterprises and develop linkages with local market actors and service providers.
∎ Support project participants in preparing business development plans, including detailed breakdowns and distribution plans for executing IGA activities.
∎ Assist project participants in identifying community resources and developing effective utilization plan and implementation plans through leveraging local resources.
∎ Foster greater awareness of climate change impacts and promote SMART adaptive measures through climate-smart agriculture at the community level, leveraging support from government and NGOs.
∎ Identify potential youths and employers for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses and apprenticeship opportunities, ensuring job placements in various sectors.
∎ Provide comprehensive monitoring and evaluation data, information and reports to support the respective supervisor and Monitoring Officer.
∎ Organize sensitization sessions, meetings and discussions for target project participants in accordance with the project plan.
∎ Build and maintain strong relationships with households, stakeholders and local government representatives to ensure effective project implementation.
∎ Maintain meaningful engagement with communities, project participants and relevant stakeholders to foster collaboration and support.
∎ Assist in identifying youth and young adults for skills programs, ensuring follow-up for enrolment and retention in chosen trades and skills training.
∎ Regularly follow up with target households to ensure they receive necessary support for both on-farm and off-farm activities.
∎ Facilitate project participants to have easy access to various Social Safety Net Programs (SSNPs) governments of Bangladesh through facilitating rights-based approach.
