Job Context:
∎ The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.
∎ CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD`s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.
∎ The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues.
∎ CDD Office is now accepting applications under a project titled, ‘Disability Inclusive Resilient Livelihood (DiRL)’ to be implemented with the support of CBM Global Disability Inclusion. The project will take initiatives to improve the economic condition of people with disabilities by accessing inclusive livelihood, mental health and wellbeing support.
∎ And the incumbent (Community Disability Resource Person) is responsible to play a leading role to identify persons with disabilities and ensure quality rehabilitation services (PRT, assistive device, refer, etc.) for them. At the same time he will support project team (at field level) to ensure timely implementation of all project interventions as well as support team to ensure timely programmatic report.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Play leading role to identify persons with disabilities and ensure quality rehabilitation services (PRT, assistive device, refer, etc.) for them;
∎ Organize outreach Camp on Mental Health, Eye and Hearing screening at field level;
∎ Support project team (at OPD level) to ensure timely programmatic report (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual);
∎ Support project team (at OPD level) to form self-help group and take initiatives to enhance their capacity;
∎ Strengthening capacity of health service providers on disability mainstreaming through orientation/meeting/workshop;
∎ Regular update the MIS of the project;
∎ Support to select potential persons with disabilities for different capacity building initiatives (leadership training, peer responder training, etc.)
∎ Support to organize awareness session on mental health, disability inclusion, rights of persons with disabilities, etc. with different stakeholders;
∎ Participate in different project interventions i.e.- development of PIP, learning and experience sharing workshop, project coordination meeting, trainings, etc.
∎ Support the project team (at OPD level) to organize different events i.e.- local level workshop, meeting, training, orientation, etc.
∎ Closely work with third party for proper implementation of baseline survey/study/evaluation through providing information as needed;
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years of professional work experience worked as a Therapy Assistant/community rehabilitation worker;
∎ Having sound understanding on empowerment of marginalized people will be an added advantage;
∎ Able to take decision in a timely manner, priorities and multi-task work seamlessly;
∎ Previous experience of managing positive relationship with local level GO-NGO officials, local government representatives and other actors in the respective sector;
∎ Special Skills Required:
∎ Have time management, leadership, analytical ability, multitasking, facilitation; communication, presentation and report writing skills;
∎ Have adaptability, teamwork, relationship building and change management skills;
∎ Basic skill on MS Word, MS PowerPoint; very good command on MS Excel. Have outstanding skills and expertise at communicating by email and internet.
