Job Context:
∎ Duty Station/ organization: Mother and Child Health Centre, Teknaf/ Bangladesh Red Crescent society, Population Movement Operation
∎ Reporting to: Community Health Mobilizer, Mother and Child Health Centre (MCHC)
∎ Period of contract: Fixed term contract for one year, and extension subject to performance and fund availability
∎ Purpose: RCRC volunteers will mobilize communities, facilitate health service from MCHC, and make health awareness of people in the catchment area.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Mapping the catchment area with targeted population.
∎ Organize and mobilize community volunteers (CVs).
∎ Update the plan to accumulate the change and need of the targeted populated by informing CBHFA focal.
∎ Conduct mass Community Outreach Awareness campaigns in all project location.
∎ Continuous contact with community leader and local authority including emergency response.
∎ Ensure the capacity development/awareness raising activities, knowledge and information sharing particularly in social mobilization reach to targeted population
∎ Support to CBHFA team in planning of social mobilization and training activities as per the operational context.
∎ Assist to conduct need based survey/ evaluation or others assessment.
∎ Conduct weekly coordination meeting with CVs.
∎ Monitoring the CVs activities at field level.
∎ Daily reporting on the CBHFA programmatic data.
∎ Community mobilizers will advocate on First-aid, Epidemic control, Psycho-social support, Nutrition, family planning, NCD and RCRC movement among the catchment people including all target community.
∎ Maintain working relationship with health centers of BDRCS.
∎ Duties applicable to all staff:
∎ 1. Actively work towards the achievement of MCHC objectives
∎ 2. Abide by and work in accordance with Red Cross and Red Crescent principles and code of conduct
∎ 3 Perform any other work assigned by line manager
Additional Requirements:
∎ 1 year experience in community work
∎ Ability to speak, write and understand Chittagonian language
∎ Able to work in communities, knowledge and skills on community mobilisation, teamwork, motivation
