∎ Knowledge:
∎ Experienced in developing content heavy site with WordPress platform.
∎ Demonstrable knowledge in designing custom module form WordPress site, and theme customization.
∎ Demonstrable design knowledge, such as layout, typography, color, interaction design
∎ Experience:
∎ At least 3 years of experience in software/database development and management, and analysis tools
∎ Experience with development of interactive visualization dashboards, portals, and mobile Apps based on online/cloud services for data and analytics.
∎ Experience with user interaction for systems requirement, collaborative design, and feedback
∎ Experience in diverse database design (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, or NoSQL), and various Linux/Unix distribution platforms
∎ Experience in internal abstract data visualization including reporting, dashboarding, and presenting real-time analytics to enable smart decisions.
∎ Experience in creating and editing visual content including maps, charts, and graphs.
∎ Skills and Abilities:
∎ Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability; English proficiency in communication, presentation, and report writing.
∎ Personal Qualities:
∎ Self-motivated, with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities

∎ The Data Visualization Expert, reporting to the IT Lead, is responsible for developing the visual interface and the dashboard of a Knowledge Hub for a functional Meteorological Data visualization, Forecast and observation data integration, weather forecast Verification modules under in collaboration with the Web Application Developer. S/he will support the development team in the design and development of the Knowledge Hub.
∎ Major Duties and Responsibilities:
∎ The Data Visualization Expert will support the development of the Knowledge Hub particularly the visual interface of the platform. This includes leading and/or assisting in the following tasks.
∎ Work closely with the project Lead, NWP Experts, IT Lead, and other members of the project team.
∎ Review and update the Knowledge Hub architecture, modules, functionalities and analytics, graphical user interface, visualization, etc
∎ Update the data management modules and integrate relevant readily available global/regional/national datasets into the platform.
∎ Update the graphical user interface of the Knowledge Hub with high charts, graphs, trends, patterns, clustering, spatial layering.
∎ Assist in the development of virtual helpdesks, videos, and other materials related to the Knowledge Hub.
∎ Participate in discussions, meetings, consultations with the National Meteorological and Hydrological Service (NMHS)
∎ Other relevant work for the project as assigned by the Project lead or the Technical Lead.

RIMES evolved from the efforts of countries in Africa and Asia, in the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, to establish a regional early warning system within a multi-hazard framework for the generation and communication of early warning information, and capacity building for preparedness and response to trans-boundary hazards. RIMES was established on 30 April 2009, and was registered with the United Nations on 1 July 2009.
