Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Must be Oracle certified DBA.
∎ Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise. Monitoring database efficiency, ensuring that databases meet user requirements.
∎ Assisting in database design, designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation.
∎ Regularly liaising with IT project managers and database programmers.
∎ Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.
∎ Troubleshooting and resolving database security and integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
∎ Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database.
∎ Planning and execution of database backup and recovery; preparing disaster recovery plans.
