Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Plan, organize, and monitor daily cutting operations to meet production schedules.
∎ Review and analyze the cutting plan and markers to maximize fabric efficiency and minimize wastage.
∎ Supervise the cutting team including cutters, spreaders, helpers, and quality checkers.
∎ Ensure cutting quality standards are maintained and defects are minimized.
∎ Coordinate closely with the Pattern, Sampling, and Production departments to ensure accurate execution.
∎ Monitor fabric consumption, cutting losses, and inventory control of cut panels.
∎ Verify marker efficiency and lay reports; ensure proper fabric layering and cutting techniques.
∎ Ensure machinery and cutting equipment are maintained in good condition.
∎ Implement systems to track cut panel outputs, wastage, and rejection rates.
∎ Train and develop team members to improve skill levels and overall efficiency.
∎ Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards within the cutting department.
∎ Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cutting reports for management review.
∎ Strong technical knowledge of knit fabrics, shrinkage behavior, and cutting standards.
∎ Proficient in fabric consumption calculation, marker making, and lay planning.
∎ Familiarity with manual and computerized cutting methods (e.g., Gerber, Lectra CAD systems preferred).
∎ Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
∎ Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
