The Hunger Project in Bangladesh was founded in 1991 to foment a volunteer-based movement for overcoming hunger and poverty sustainably. THP in Bangladesh is currently the largest volunteer-based organization in the country, with over 150,000 volunteers working toward self-reliance.
∎ In Africa, Asia and Latin America, The Hunger Project empowers millions of women and men to end their own hunger. The Hunger Project has pioneered low-cost, bottom-up, gender-focused strategies in each region where hunger persists. These strategies mobilize clusters of rural villages to create and run their own programs that achieve lasting progress in health, education, nutrition and family income.
∎ Project Background/Profile:
∎ This is a six months long project, strong possibility of extension. The aim of this project is to meaningfully engage the communities in high-risk/hotspot locations of Covid to get themselves vaccinated, wear masks properly, and practice the key recommended behaviors.
∎ The specific objectives of the project are:
∎ To improve the knowledge and practice by individuals and communities for the prevention of COVID-19 and uptake of COVID 19 vaccination.
∎ To increase the engagement of communities and relevant stakeholders to facilitate practice of COVID 19 preventative behaviors, care seeking and vaccine uptake
∎ To increase the number of people accessing mechanisms to voice their needs/concerns, including feedback and complaint mechanisms.
∎ Job Context:
∎ The Hunger Project (THP) Bangladesh will be implementing “Strengthening Risk Communication and Community Engagement and Vaccine Communication for COVID-19 Prevention” project funded by Unicef at 154 Upazilas under 22 Districts of Bangladesh using Consortium approach. The Hunger Project as the lead organization will be directly implementing the project at 84 Upazilas under 12 Districts and the remaining 70 Upazilas under the 10 Districts will be implemented by the Consortium partners. This is a short term project and thus requires District Coordinator with substantial working knowledge at field level in the health care advocacy sector in a volunteer based organization.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Act as an ambassador, information source and spoke person for the project in the assigned district
∎ Ensure stakeholders access and accurate information source in the district
∎ Coordinate with area coordinators/upazila coordinators as well as volunteers to successfully implement and receive outcome of the project
∎ Respond to requests of data as well as the progress of the project on a timely fashion
∎ Assist the regional coordinators in preparing case studies of the project.
∎ Assist the regional coordinators in preparing project progress reports
∎ Monitor activities of the project of the lead organization (THP) as well as the consortium partners

Additional Requirements:
∎ 2-5 years of practical working experience at field level at any NGO/INGO in the health care sector
∎ Having practical working experience at any volunteer based organization will be an added advantage
∎ Adequate knowledge on Microsoft Office and Google based applications
∎ Good knowledge of English and Bangla, both written and spoken
∎ Pro-active, self-starter and result oriented.
∎ Professional, honest, dedicated, energetic, smart, team builder, polite in manner with positive personality.
∎ Skills in Computer.

Salary:
∎ Taka 25,000 (taka twenty five thousand) per month. No other financial benefit applicable .
