∎ GIZ has been working as a development partner of Bangladesh since 1972 under bilateral agreement. Currently, we are working in the areas of renewable energy, adaptation to climate change, textile and leather sector, biodiversity, as well as good governance, displacement, and migration.
∎ For the team of our "Policy Advisory for Promoting of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, PAP", we seek applications for the position of "Energy Advisor".

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The position holder is responsible for:
∎
∎ Managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior
∎ Assisting project/programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups
∎ Advise supervisor on all task when implementing GIZ rules and regulation
∎ Advise supervisor in the field of project's planning, steering and monitoring
∎ Independently implement goals and requirements set by the line manager
∎ Make decisions which have a short-term effect within a limited project area/ unit
∎ Assist supervisor to identify day to day problem and suggest appropriate solution
∎ In this context, the position holder fulfils the following tasks:

∎ The position holder:
∎
∎ Act as focal person for energy efficiency and conservation (EEC) activities of the energy unit, and therefore holding the responsibility to coordinate all activities pertaining to the field with other projects as well as with all stakeholders affiliated to the GIZ energy projects
∎ Coordinate planned measures to improve cooperation between public and private institutions in the power sector to accelerate renewable energy and energy efficiency (RE/EE) market development.
∎ Initiate and coordinate of joint planning, steering and monitoring processes through the establishment of thematic working groups on macro and meso level.
∎ Organise of expert networks, conferences and workshops for knowledge sharing and synergies between national and international experiences.
∎ Maintain liaison with relevant key government stakeholders for the sustainability and necessary capacity development of the established thematic working groups to accelerate EE market development.
∎ Develop ToR and manage contracts including procurement and consulting contracts in coordination with Energy Cluster, GIZ Country office and GIZ headquarters contract teams
∎ Represent GIZ in various meetings and events.
∎ Conceptualize, prepare and organize workshops, seminars, and other events related to the programme's field of activities and submit reports on the event
∎ Submission of internal reports on conducted project events.
∎ Work closely with PAP M&E Expert to design M&E framework and provide inputs based on project component interventions
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience including at least 2 years in a similar position.
∎ Experience of working closely with Government of Bangladesh (GoB) as well as international organizations will be considered as an asset.
∎ A clear exposure to energy sector and private sector development will get solid preference
∎ Ability to work well under pressure (i.e., meet strict deadline) and must be a strong team player
∎ Must have good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla is essential (both oral and written)
∎ Knowledge of German Language is an asset
∎ Ability to work in an intercultural environment and multi-disciplinary team
∎ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
∎ Basic knowledge of development issues in the context of Bangladesh
