∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Botany, Master of Science (MSc) in Botany
∎ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Botany, from any Public University
∎ Specialization or knowledge in medicinal plants, ethnobotany will be preferred.

∎ Age at most 30 years
∎ Strong knowledge of medicinal plants used in Homoeopathy, Unani, and Herbal systems.
∎ Familiarity with botanical taxonomy, microscopy, and phytochemical screening.
∎ Good documentation and research skills.
∎ Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (R&D, QC, Procurement, etc.).
∎ Strong observational, analytical, and communication skills.
∎ Well conversant with MS office applications.
∎ Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in an herbal, Homoeo, or Unani medicine manufacturing environment.
∎ Experience in herbal drug R&D, raw material authentication, or botanical gardens is an advantage.
∎ Experience in handling of HPTLC is preferable

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Department: Quality Control
∎ Job Location: Factory (Dhaka)
∎ The Botanist is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and researching medicinal plants and herbs used in Homoeo, Unani, and Herbal formulations. This role ensures the botanical authenticity, quality, and sustainability of raw materials while supporting the development of innovative and effective natural medicines.
∎ Collect, identify, and classify medicinal plants and herbs.
∎ Ensure proper botanical authentication and nomenclature of raw plant materials.
∎ Evaluate the quality and purity of plant-based raw materials through organoleptic, microscopic, and phytochemical methods
∎ Assist in setting botanical specifications and standards for procurement.
∎ Work with R&D to develop and refine herbal, Unani, and Homoeo formulations. Conduct ethnobotanical and literature reviews on traditional plant uses and efficacy.
∎ Participate in routine and batch-wise botanical testing to ensure compliance with pharmacopeial standards.
∎ Detect and prevent adulteration or substitution of plant materials.
∎ Maintain detailed records of research, plant characteristics, sourcing data, and testing results.
∎ Contribute to technical documentation for product registration and regulatory submission.
∎ Train QC/QA and production personnel on plant identification and botanical handling.
∎ Promote awareness of medicinal plant conservation and sustainable usage.
