Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Prepare and submit VAT returns on time for multiple jurisdictions.
∎ Ensure the company’s VAT filings are accurate, complete, and compliant with local, national, and international tax regulations.
∎ Monitor VAT legislation changes and assess their impact on business operations.
∎ Prepare and assist in the preparation of VAT-related financial reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
∎ Ensure proper accounting for VAT transactions across all business units.
∎ Review and analyze VAT-related transactions to identify opportunities for optimization.
∎ Provide VAT advice and guidance to internal departments on tax matters such as procurement, sales, and invoicing.
∎ Support business units with VAT planning, risk management, and policy development.
∎ Assist in VAT audits and support the company during tax authority investigations.
∎ Communicate with VAT authorities to resolve queries or discrepancies in VAT filings.
∎ Prepare responses and documentation for VAT-related audits, disputes, and assessments.
∎ Identify opportunities to improve VAT reporting processes, systems, and controls.
∎ Participate in VAT system implementation or upgrades to improve efficiency and compliance.
∎ Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all VAT-related transactions.
∎ Assist in preparing documents for tax audits and internal/external reviews.
∎ Work closely with the Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Sales teams to ensure VAT compliance across all departments.
∎ Provide training on VAT-related matters to internal teams as required.
