Job Context:
∎ Social and Economic Enhancement Programme - SEEP is a private voluntary development organization with a vision to create a society for children which is free of exploitation, discrimination and violence and supports growth to their highest potential. Established in 1985 with its head office in Dhaka and has the mandate to protect the children from all sorts of hazardous condition including disaster and emergencies across Bangladesh.
∎ SEEP works in emergency response and humanitarian context and has been implementing a project titled `Human Health and Family Planning in Cox`s Bazar` with technical support from Welfhungerhilfe (WHH) Bangladesh, to support to the Rohingya and host community to cope with shocks and stress`.
∎ The Family Planning and Hygiene Officer is responsible for the operation and implementation of `Human Health and Family Planning in Cox`s Bazar` project produces documentation, and coordinates and disseminates information in support of the project. He will manage / coordinate the training, placement and see to their employment.
∎ Contract Length: Contractual. Until 31 July 2022.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support to humanitarian response team towards implementation of response mechanism, standard operational procedures (SOP), relevant guidelines and policies to comply with the humanitarian standards.
∎ Coordinate with government agencies, humanitarian actors, donors, and relevant agencies at the ground to discharge humanitarian deliverables and promote best practices for emergency response.
∎ Provide accurate data to programme team ensuring effective, timely and accountable emergency response in accordance with the plan and SOP.
∎ Support team to develop and prepare reports, briefs, stories & data sheets.
∎ Support advocacy and campaign work by engaging relevant stakeholders.
∎ Serve as frontline focal person and build linkage with project participants.
∎ Provide guidance to volunteers for participation of the affected people.
∎ Promote community participation in steps of project implementation.
∎ Educate project participants on issues relating to project goals, disseminate information that impacts project participant through agreed medium.
∎ Promote readiness of the affected communities in terms of their rights and entitlements
∎ Support preparing community participation stories and learning documents capturing voice of project participants from the field aiming to consolidate institutional learning and experience during response.
∎ Ensure that activities (e.g., meeting, hygiene training) is routinely documented (e.g. attendance sheets, minutes) and updated timely.
∎ Ensure linkage with specific program participants and guests and share update and challenges with programme team.
∎ Support developing flawless list of support receivers (beneficiary selection) and ensure relevant audit and financial requirements.
∎ Conduct training, campaign, community consultation as per work plan.
∎ Support documenting community feedbacks, establish complaints-handling procedures, and support achieving advocacy targets.
∎ Conduct project participant selection survey and monitoring survey.
∎ Prepare profiles of project participants.
∎ Develop work plan and response map highlighting field interventions.
∎ Support finance and admin department to prepare documents.
∎ Any other tasks given by the Emergency Response Manager.
∎ SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Helping individuals, families, groups and communities develop their capacity and access to resources, including health insurance, food, housing, quality care and health information
∎ Facilitating communication and client empowerment in interactions with health care/social service systems
∎ Helping health care and social service systems become culturally relevant and responsive to their service population
∎ Helping people understand their health condition(s) and develop strategies to improve their health and well being
∎ Helping to build understanding and social capital to support healthier behaviors and lifestyle choices
∎ Delivering health information using culturally appropriate terms and concepts
∎ Linking people to health care/social service resources
∎ Providing informal counseling, support and follow-up
∎ Advocating for local health needs
∎ Providing health services, such as monitoring blood pressure and providing first aid
∎ Making home visits to chronically ill patients, pregnant women and nursing mothers, individuals at high risk of health problems and the elderly
∎ Translating and interpreting for clients and health care/social service providers

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience of working in Rohingya camp and expertise over local language of Cox's Bazar will be preferred.
∎ Knowledge of project implementation, and local laws and regulations is an asset
∎ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks within an environment where many interruptions occur.
∎ Ability to work with multi-cultural teams and international professionals.
∎ Availability and fitness for travel.
∎ Ability to work under pressure.
