Responsibilities & Context:
∎ An exciting role at Practical Action in Bangladesh has arisen for a dynamic, organized, and inquisitive individual to support us implementing the project on Digital Innovation in Early Warning Systems: Building Climate Resilience in Bangladesh. The successful applicant will ensure to management and implement this ICT-focused project related activities. The post-holder will give substantial project management support to the Climate and Resilience Project team in Bangladesh.
∎ Project Implementation (85%)
∎ § Ensuring the presence of participants in the training program by visiting their houses regularly.
∎ § Arranging materials and logistical support needed for the awareness-building, skill development and/or training programmes of UDMC members/CPP Volunteer.
∎ § Providing necessary support and assistance to the Senior officials during field visits by Project, and/or Practical Action staff.
∎ § Ensuring necessary logistical support for on-field activities, such as Disaster Alert App & Digital Weather Board operation.
∎ § Gathering materials for capacity-building/training and input of the UDMC members/CPP Volunteer.
∎ § Preparing monthly work plan, monthly report, case study and other necessary documents, and submitting them to the project lead/Sr. project officer on time.
∎ § Updating/Informing the project Lead/assigned supervisor about the Project activities as needed and asking him/her about necessary information if required.
∎ § Entitlement to do any activity for the purpose of the organization and the Project.
∎ § Responsible for monitoring the achievement of the results set by the project in his/her area of responsibility.
∎ § Handle necessary administrative paperwork and other documentation needed for project validation and quality control.
∎ § Conduct regular field visit and monitor the functional of Disaster Alert apps & Digital Weather Board and find out its obligations of their operations, troubleshot the problems.
∎ § Develop and maintain effective working relationships with partners, staff, contractors and service providers.
∎ § Support in collecting household data/information.
∎ § Maintain an excellent working relationship with local government, development partners, local volunteers working with the project as well as other local authorities.
∎ § Any other duties consistent with the nature, level and grade of the post as may be required.
∎ Engagement in Country Programme Activities (10%)
∎ § Provide support to project team and local partner in implementing any relevant climate and resilience project activities.
∎ § Maintain and update implementation plans for the assigned work package. Identify continuous improvements and lessons learned.
∎ Organizational Policies, Safeguarding and Code of Conduct (5%)
∎ § Ensure that all involved acting on the organisation’s behalf is well aware on Safeguarding Policy, Diversity and Dignity in the Workplace Policy, Code of Conduct, Fraud policy and Whistleblowing policy.
∎ § Ensure beneficiaries whom we work with are aware of the safeguarding policy including the reporting lines when appropriate.
∎ § Be responsible that anyone acting on our behalf has signed up to the Safeguarding and Code of Conduct policies.
∎ § Ensure our ethics and values, as set out in our Code of Conduct and related policies, including safeguarding, are embedded in team culture, and well modelled by others. Ensure that reporting structure are well promoted and respond to all concerns appropriately.
∎ § Responsible for gender responsive behaviour in all actions and decisions. Ensure non-discriminative behaviour based on gender, age, sex, race, ethnic background, culture, disability, nationality, religion and marital status. Is sensitive and adaptable to gender and social inclusion.
