Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Manage the financial operations of the Bhasan Char Livelihoods project, ensuring compliance with Donor financial guidelines and transparency in financial transactions.
∎ Maintain accurate financial records for all project activities, including cash-based transfers, beneficiary entitlements, and operational expenses.
∎ Support the monitoring and reconciling digital attendance and payment data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial protocols.
∎ Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including monthly expenditure reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget variance analyses.
∎ Assist in developing and managing the project budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation across vegetable production, vermicomposting, and upcycling activities.
∎ Collaborate with the project team to ensure proper record-keeping of all financial transactions and timely funds disburse to beneficiaries and suppliers.
∎ Facilitate training sessions for project staff on financial management and cash-based transfer processes, emphasizing transparency and accountability.
∎ Should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)'s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members (with respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse - PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program's goals of safeguarding implementation.
∎ Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) is implementing CODEC Livelihoods project in Bhasanchar involving vermicompost and vegetable production.
∎ The vermicompost initiative will produce eco-friendly fertilizer, create jobs, and enhance environmental sustainability through waste reduction and soil improvement.
∎ The vegetable production component, focused on pumpkin cultivation, aims to boost food security and nutrition while linking refugee farmers to E-voucher shops and fresh food markets.
∎ Refugees will receive training, cash grants, and technical support. The project will initially run up to December 2024, with coordination efforts involving camp administration and stakeholders.
