Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ We are currently seeking a Finance Officer based in Dhaka to join the country office finance team and have a role in all aspects of the finance function and to facilitate the integration between accounting, finance, and program staff towards the common goal of ensuring that project objectives are met.
∎ Scope of the Position:
∎ The Finance Officer`s overall responsibility is to support the finance functions for Helen Keller Int`l Bangladesh. The Finance Officer`s responsibilities include internal control, accounting database management, reconciliation and verification of payment, budget and treasury and cash management functions.
∎ Country Program Overview:
∎ Starting in 1978 by promoting and implementing Nutrition programs, today, Helen Keller Bangladesh is implementing large scale food and health systems program work in Dhaka, the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), Sylhet, Sathkhira, Bogura, Pabna and Narayangonj through and with the government of Bangladesh, as well as national and international partners and NGOs, academic and research institutions, and the private sector.
∎ Since its beginning, Helen Keller Bangladesh has worked with over 150 local, international and government partners to establish Enhanced Homestead Food Production (HFP) programs benefiting over 4.5 million people. We are currently implementing programs to prevent blindness and Neglected Tropical Diseases alongside to programs to improve nutrition and food security that integrate gender-sensitive approaches.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use basic accounting principles.
∎ Organized, detail-oriented individual with strong quantitative and analytical skills
∎ Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and spreadsheet software, familiarity with ERP system NetSuite, eager to learn new software.
∎ Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively across cultures and to communicate complex information to colleagues with less knowledge.
∎ Ability to prioritize workload, assume responsibility for work, and follow through to completion.
∎ Strong motivation for working in a non-profit environment.
∎ Collaborative, flexible and solution oriented. Ability to work under pressure, maintain balance when under stress and meet strict internal and donor deadlines.
