Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Merchandising Strategy:Develop and execute merchandising plans to meet sales and profit goals.Analyze market trends, customer demand, and competitor strategies.Align product assortment with brand vision and business objectives.
∎ Product Assortment & Buying:Lead buying decisions, vendor negotiations, and product selection.Ensure optimal product mix (categories, styles, pricing tiers).Collaborate with design, sourcing, and planning teams.
∎ Inventory Management:Oversee inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.Work with supply chain and logistics teams for efficient distribution.Implement markdown and clearance strategies.
∎ Pricing & Promotions:Set pricing strategies to maximize margins and competitiveness.Plan promotional campaigns, discounts, and seasonal sales.
∎ Financial Performance:Monitor KPIs (sales, gross margin, sell-through, inventory turnover).Prepare budgets, forecasts, and P&L analysis for merchandising.
∎ Team Leadership:Manage merchandising, buying, and planning teams.Foster collaboration with marketing, sales, and operations.
∎ Vendor & Supplier Relations:Build strong partnerships with suppliers and negotiate contracts.Ensure quality, cost efficiency, and ethical sourcing.
