∎ Position Description
∎ The Information, Communication and Knowledge Management (ICKM) Specialist will lead the development and implementation of a ICKM strategy for SAHF. The objectives are to: effectively communicate SAHF program work to external audiences; capture, package and disseminate knowledge; and foster learning, exchange of insights, collaboration, and innovation across SAHF. He/she will support SAHF goals by ensuring seamless information flow, effective communication strategies, and optimal knowledge utilization across SAHF’ stakeholders, including but not limited to NMHSs, WB, WMO, RIMES, UK MET Office, etc.
∎ Major Duties and Responsibilities:
∎ Communication strategy
∎ In close liaison with the SAHF secretariat, develop a comprehensive communication strategy for SAHF and its programs. This communication strategy should focus at least on the following components:
∎ Summary of SAHF current communication landscape (e.g., website, social media, formal events)
∎ Identify and analyze SAHF target audience by identifying primary and secondary targets (e.g., government agencies, donors, external practitioners, academia, etc.);
∎ Summarize and define the main topics of interest for each target audience;
∎ Develop a communication strategy that outlines how the key messages will be delivered to the target audience and through which channels, considering both traditional and digital communication strategy. This should include the definition of specific knowledge products (e.g., brochures, posters, videos, newsletters) for each target audience, the modalities of dissemination and storage in the SAHF communication portal;
∎ Develop a communication plan detailing how the different SAHF work streams contribute to the communication strategy and support SAHF and its secretariat in mainstreaming the plan. This shall include establishing simple procedures for capturing and disseminating knowledge produced by SAHF teams (e.g., Executive Council, Working Groups, secretariat, etc.);
∎ Monitor communication channels for feedback and insights and adjust the strategy accordingly.
∎ Content creation and production
∎ Based on the SAHF communication strategy developed, collaborate with relevant experts, teams, and units in SAHF and the SAHF secretariat to create engaging and informative content (e.g., brochures, posters, videos, newsletters, fact sheets, press releases, annual reports);
∎ Work with technical experts to identify and document experiences, best practices, lessons learned, and case studies and package these for dissemination;
∎ facilitate content dissemination through various communication channels (i.e., website, social media, email, etc.);
∎ Provide support in the implementation of planned events, webinars, and workshops.
∎ Dissemination channels and communication portals
∎ Provide guidance and technical support to the SAHF secretariat in the revision, modernization, and redesign of the SAHF web-portals, including:
∎ The SAHF Knowledge Hub architecture and content;
∎ the Data Exchange Portal;
∎ Launch a multi-pronged, high profile image building campaign for SAHF through social media.
∎ Other duties:
∎ Collaborate with SAHF’s key stakeholders to identify information and knowledge gaps, propose and provide solutions
∎ Any other relevant work assigned by the position’s supervisor
