Educational Requirements:
∎ Relevant degree in social science/development studies or related subject or equivalent experience.
Job Context:
∎ Level 2: This post will have direct access or contact with children either or will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of those with direct access to children. A criminal background check will be obtained for post holder at this level prior to their start date.
∎ Safeguarding: VSO has zero tolerance of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable people. We will expect all our employees and volunteers to commit to protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults from harm and abide by our Global Safeguarding Policy.
∎ Collaboration: The appointed individual will collaborate with and support the projects managers, project staff and the Knowledge management team.
∎ Placement Duration: 3 months ending 31st March 2024
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support Programme team to compile/collate reports and data for donor and VSO global reporting.
∎ Support in the collection of qualitative and quantitative data from the projects and programme case studies.
∎ Support the programme team in communication materials development.
∎ Support in the implementation of effective knowledge management within the VSO.
∎ Facilitate and support seamless communication channels to ensure the efficient flow of information among internal teams and external stakeholders by understanding their information needs and preferences.
∎ Support in the implementation of best practices for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and documentation to enhance organizational learning.
∎ Collaborate with global teams to identify knowledge gaps and support in the implementation of solutions for knowledge transfer.
∎ Support in generating regular reports and analysis to demonstrate the impact of knowledge initiatives on organizational performance.
∎ Support in ensuring the accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of content through regular reviews and updates.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in communication materials development
∎ User experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis using relevant analysis software packages.
∎ Comparative analysis, report-writing, and presentation skills
∎ Good command of written and spoken English and local languages.
∎ Good communication skills: the ability to work in a team.
∎ Willingness to travel to remote areas and willingness to work flexibly as required.
∎ Respect and commitment to volunteering for development as VSO's core development methodology.
