Job Responsibilities:
∎ Livestock Officer is responsible for planning, executing and monitoring the activities related to livestock rearing and management of the project.
∎ Support project team related to livestock rearing and management activities so that project targets are achieved timely with quality.
∎ Ensure compliance of all policies and guidelines of NDP and donors in implementing the project.
∎ Maintain regular communication with line management for implementing the day to day project activities.
∎ Mobilization of community, MEs, local service providers, Livestock Department and other stakeholders to identify constraints of the dairy cluster and take steps to solve the problems.
∎ Maintain proper communication and coordination with NDP MFP and all stakeholders and Livestock departments to ensure required support for better dairy management including treatment.
∎ Regular field visit to ensure better animal management practices among the MEs.
∎ Prepare reports for the NDP, PKSF, government and other stakeholders on regular basis.
∎ Responsible for daily and monthly reporting, maintaining of all records, registers and document in a systematic manner regarding better animal management practice.
∎ Support to organize project inception meeting, staff meeting and meeting, workshops and seminars with various stakeholders.
∎ Support to fill up ME profiles, check ME profiles and to ensure proper documentation with special focus on adaptation on better animal management practices.
∎ Support to establish village milk collection center, ensure proper O&M of the centers, transfer of various technologies to entrepreneurs, etc.
∎ Responsible to organize various trainings including eco-friendly dairy management, LSP, waste management, feed & feeding, fodder production & silage, etc. and preparation of training reports.
∎ Support for organizing training /workshop on certification /farm registration; business citification, trade license, etc. and preparation of events reports.
∎ Responsible for developing entrepreneurs on supply safe cattle feed, vatenary pharmacy, Paravet; high yielding fodder production and marketing, etc.
∎ Support for demonstration of eco-friendly cow comfort shed for Pabna breed and rearing practices.
∎ Responsible to organize livestock fair, awareness raising sessions among MEs, publication of leaflet/ disease calendar/ vaccination schedule, etc.
∎ Documentation of project activities including video documentary (teaser, document, etc) and outputs, outcomes and results of the project related to better animal management practices.
∎ Support to develop environment forum and take effective steps to take environmental initiatives by the MEs.
∎ Support to conduction baseline survey, development data collection tools and collection, analysis of data related to field activities of the project.
∎ Generate new ideas for the development and promotion of the dairy cluster.
∎ Support to Micro Finance Branch to disburse loan to reach target.
∎ The Livestock Officer will be responsible for any other duties deemed appropriate.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Minimum 5 years practical working experience in any dairy project.
∎ Working experience senior level project management
∎ Computer skill on Office application and graphics design;
∎ Having computer knowledge MS word
∎ Good communication skill using different channels both digital and analog; good interpersonal relationship skill etc.
∎ Having valid driving license
Salary:
∎ 40,000/= including all (in 3 months probationary period). After the ending of probationary period will be provide others benefits as per project budget.
