Job Context:
∎ The purpose of the Manager, Disaster Risk Management role is for coordination with the Country Humanitarian team, technical assistance in preparation of country contingency plans, consolidation of country programme reports and situation reports, supporting country team to consolidate learning and implement activities, and Development of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, work as co facilitator for humanitarian training/workshops. S/He will also assist the humanitarian team to develop programme budget and monitoring of budget.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Programme Coordination and Support country teams:
∎ Coordinate with country teams and ensure that primary information is generated from the field level to ensure the preparation of various reports.
∎ Assist and guide the country teams on contingency plan development.
∎ Facilitating the processing of contracts for consultants, vendors and external partners that support BRAC's Humanitarian initiatives
∎ Draft budgets and maintain financial oversight of BI DRMP programme expenditures
∎ Support due diligence processes conducted by GRP and Fundraising units
∎ Coordinate with BI country offices and programmes to support available CFP opportunities
∎ Capacity building:
∎ Arrange capacity building workshops and training programs on Disaster Management (DRR, Preparedness & Response) for BI Country Offices
∎ Orient BI Country Teams on use of Standard Operating Procedures for Humanitarian Response, Situation reporting templates and Global Humanitarian Strategy
∎ Supports the development of documentation, resources, and written materials relating to the training programs, including manuals development, updates, use, and workshop materials
∎ Reporting and documentation:
∎ Produce timely situation reports during emergencies
∎ Draft concept note, proposal, action plan and presentations for relevant stakeholders to support resource mobilization.
∎ Produce IEC materials and publish them through various platforms for the wider audience.
∎ Draft quality donor reports in collaboration with country teams and BI monitoring units.
∎ Share information on Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Response within and outside BRAC.
∎ Documents and share monitoring feedback and knowledge events to inform new programme design, planning and learning
∎ Safeguarding:
∎ Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

∎ Excellent command in English, especially in analytical writing and speaking;
∎ Ability to demonstrate values, core purpose and principles of humanitarian work;
∎ Ability to receive and provide feedback and updates to achieve improved results;
∎ Ability to work under pressure with Self-awareness, cultural sensitivity, respect to diversity, flexibility and adaptability;
∎ Ability to make time to learn from experience and feedback, and apply the lessons to a new situation;
∎ Ability to document lessons learned and apply them to future projects;
∎ Minimum Five-year working experience in INGOs;
∎ Experience in disaster management/humanitarian work;
∎ Experience in writing reports, developing IEC materials, and presentations;
∎ Trained in Humanitarian programme
