Job Responsibilities:
∎ Purpose:
∎ Has overall strategic and day to day responsibility for the Import/Export unit in a Branch. Manage the staff of the department in order to provide high quality service to customers while meeting the goals of the company.
∎ Essential Duties:
∎ Supervise and monitoring all operations and lead staffs and provide them an accurate instruction rapidly for solving problems, especially focus on Export forwarding and NVOCC operation.
∎ Planning- Research and report on all relevant logistics laws, practices and incorporate into departments strategy, resources and procedure.
∎ Prepare customer quotations.
∎ Communicate with customers, vendors, related authorities and agencies.
∎ Budget planning, Reporting and analysis for management.
∎ Profit/loss control and summarize and review monthly result
∎ Technical:
∎ Anticipate, research and report on future changes in import laws and in relevant practices, and ensure such knowledge is factored into the planning of the department's strategy, resources and procedures.
∎ Prepare quotations for key customers or give approval to ones prepared by Sales and other Import staff
∎ Manage warehousing and distribution activities influenced by or reliant upon import activities.
∎ Communicate with overseas branches regarding special, new, or potential traffic/customers. Also, provide window of communication to overseas branches.
∎ Communication with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant import activities and support in relation to sales, purchasing and operating functions.
∎ Communicate with outside import related authorities and agencies as needed.
∎ Communicate with customers regarding issues, new service, etc. Visit customers in order to develop good relationships and to acquire important information that may affect future business. Prepare customer quotations, or give approval to ones prepared by sales staff.
∎ Generate reports and analyze various types of data such as revenue, costs, volume, trends, etc. Reports should be useful to upper management as well as understanding the status of the department.
∎ Research, plan and implement transportation methods. May also coordinate with Traffic department in larger branches.
∎ Sales calls for new/old customers to increase business.
∎ Responsible for Account Receivable (All accounts) to make sure unpaid invoices will be paid in timely manner.

∎ Knowledge of Consolidator system

∎ Transportation (DOT), State, Federal and
∎ Interstate Commerce commission (ICC)
∎ regulation
∎ Communication skill
