Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist the Nurse in conducting health check-ups at Learning Centres by managing vital signs, preparing learners for assessment, and ensuring hygiene standards
∎ Support in the identification of basic symptoms and potential health risks among learners
∎ Provide first-level care support as instructed by the Nurse, including administering basic medications or first aid (if trained)
∎ Ensure all check-up tools, equipment, and supplies are prepared, functional, and well-maintained
∎ Provide support in the nearby BRAC primary healthcare centres and health posts as required including conducting triage, consultation of green patients as per BMDC rules, hospital store management, push immunizations shot for the clients, dispense medicine according to the doctor’s prescriptions etc
∎ Help maintain individual health records by entering data on check-up results, referrals, and treatments accurately
∎ Assist in preparing and organizing documentation for referrals and follow-up with Primary Health Centres (PHCs)
∎ Support the Nurse in tracking learners referred for further treatment and assist with case follow-up
∎ Ensure all data handling aligns with privacy, safeguarding, and data protection protocols
∎ Coordinate with CHWs to mobilize learners and support follow-up visits to households if required
∎ Liaise with Site Management, CiC offices, and other health partners in the camp for effective referral management
∎ Assist in preparing daily and monthly health activity reports
∎ Participate in internal health sector meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ The Medical Assistant will support the Nurse in conducting scheduled health check-ups for learners at Learning Centres in Camps 1E and 17. The role involves assisting in health assessments, health data recording, patient management, and coordination with Community Health Workers (CHWs) to ensure efficient delivery of healthcare services at learning centres. The Medical Assistant also plays a key role in logistics, documentation, and referral support to promote the well-being of learners
