Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct normal delivery with/ without direct guidance
∎ Assist mothers in labour, monitor the condition of the fetus and use knowledge of drugs and pain management by using partograph
∎ Identify high risk pregnancies and make referrals to doctors or hospital
∎ Receive and attend patients; patient counseling; and provide health education
∎ Provide OPD services including antenatal care, postnatal care, screening tests and Family Planning services (if trained). indoor patient care, manage emergencies/complications according guideline; provide reading glass after eye examination
∎ Offer support and advice following events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality and neonatal death
∎ Conduct EDD meeting and provide parenting and health education to pregnant women
∎ Support Medical Officer during OPD services. Perform and assist in supervision, monitoring and follow-up of BMC
∎ Participate in monthly refresher training and supervision of UBA
∎ Perform roster duties as Midwife
∎ Prepare/ assist weekly and monthly reports as required
∎ Prepare medicine requisition; maintain medicine and other general stocks as per the assignment given by in-charge
∎ Uphold the BRAC values and culture and ensure regular practice among all the BHC team members
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
