Job Context:
∎ Job Title : Midwife
∎ Responsible to : Clinic Manager
∎ Job Location: Ukhiya, Cox`s Bazar

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensures the nursing of the patient and provides the health care within the hospital
∎ Responsibility to initiate emergency treatment, stabilization of patients and ensuring adequate patient monitoring in all medical departments
∎ Responsible for dressing of wounds, minor injuries, skin infections and administrating drugs as prescribed by the consultants
∎ Responsible for assisting in the transfer of sick patients to hospital as requested by hospital doctor and the safe handover of patient
∎ Responsible for maintaining excellent infection control standards in the hospital
∎ Give the necessary supervision, care and advise to women during pregnancy, labor and the postpartum period
∎ Conduct deliveries on her own and care for the newborn infant
∎ Manage complications in pregnancy and childbirth, in accordance with the principles of basic emergency obstetric care
∎ Provide primary care to women of reproductive age, in accordance with the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP)
∎ Counsel and educate women, the family and the community, in relevant areas of health including preparation for parenthood and childbirth
∎ Provide all non-surgical methods of family planning, and counselling for surgical methods
∎ Obtain specialized assistance as necessary (consultation or referral)
∎ Perform administrative duties such as patient charting, recording and reporting of data; clinic and/or facility management (as required); or coordination of specific educational or outreach programs
∎ Follow established health post policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiatives; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards
∎ Participate in provision of 24-hour, 7-day maternity service, which may require evening, night or on- call duty

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 50 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Registered by Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council
∎ At least 2 years of experience in development sectors.
∎ Ability to work under pressure
∎ Willingness to take responsibility
∎ Ability to cope with distressing situations and to stay calm in stressful situations
∎ Knowledge of humanitarian action and will to take part in GO's actions

Salary: Tk. 25000 - 30000 (Monthly)
