Responsibilities & Context:

∎ • Assessing pregnant women's health, monitoring fetal development, providing education on pregnancy and childbirth, and addressing any concerns or complications.
∎ • Assisting during labor, monitoring vital signs of the mother and baby, providing pain management options, performing necessary procedures like vaginal exams, and supporting the birthing process.
∎ • Monitoring the mother's recovery after delivery, managing postpartum complications, providing breastfeeding support and education, assisting with newborn care, and addressing emotional needs.
∎ • Assessing newborn health, performing initial newborn procedures like APGAR scoring, monitoring vital signs, feeding support (breastfeeding or bottle feeding), and educating parents on infant care.
∎ • Recognizing and responding to potential complications during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, including initiating emergency procedures when necessary.
∎ • Providing comprehensive information on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, infant feeding, family planning, and healthy lifestyle choices.
∎ • Working closely with obstetricians, midwives, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
∎ • Maintain books and records related to the patients and treatment purpose, and produce necessary information as and when required.
