Education:
∎ Diploma in Nursing from a recognized and accredited institution.
∎ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) from a recognized university/institution.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Perform triage and vital sign assessments for all incoming patients, especially under-five children.
∎ Apply IMCI guidelines to assess, classify, treat, and refers under-five children with fever and diarrhea, pneumonia, malnutrition, or danger signs.
∎ Administer oral and injectable medications as prescribed by Medical Officers, including for non-communicable diseases (e.g., hypertension, diabetes).
∎ Support emergency and observation areas and manage patients requiring initial stabilization (e.g., nebulization, IV cannulation, dehydration management via ORT).
∎ Assist in minor procedures, wound dressing, and vaccination support (including EPI).
∎ Follow-up and monitoring of admitted patients·
∎ Provide nursing care to patients based on established clinical practice standards·
∎ Ensure clean and tidy dressing for wound care by maintaining IPC·
∎ Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery B. Infection Prevention, Safety, and Waste Management:
∎ Ensure standard IPC practices: hand hygiene, PPE usage, disinfection, and isolation precautions.
∎ Prepare and utilize chlorine solutions and oversee safe medical waste disposal per national protocols.
∎ Maintain cleanliness of the facility and compliance with WASH in healthcare settings.
∎ Ensure periodic sterilization as guideline instruction C. Referral and Continuity of Care:
∎ Identify danger signs and initiate timely referrals using the standard referral pathway.
∎ Escort patients needing emergency or secondary-level care and coordinate follow-ups.
∎ Educate and counsel caregivers on home care, danger signs, and importance of referral compliance. D. Health Promotion and Patient Engagement:
∎ Conducts exit interviews and supports health education on nutrition, hygiene, immunization, and preventive care.
∎ Display and explain IEC/BCC materials and attend outreach sessions when required.
∎ Build trust and communication with the community, especially with mothers and caregivers. E. Record Keeping and Reporting:
∎ Maintain accurate patient records, IMCI classification sheets, and treatment registers.
∎ Complete daily reporting formats and inventory checklists and contribute to monthly service data.
∎ Support requisitioning of medicines, equipment, and EPI logistics in coordination with the Clinic Manager.
∎ Ensure proper handover process during the duty transition and provide overview of the patient status to doctors F. Capacity Building and Quality Improvement:
∎ Attend and participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, and on-the-job training.
∎ Regularly fill out MP-EHS quality checklists and contribute to service improvement plans.
∎ Participate in training and refresher sessions organized by PHD, WHO, GoB, or partners. G. Others:
∎ Ensure clinical areas are appropriately stocked with essential equipment and supplies
∎ Assist to the doctor during the clinical round·       Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of the team·
∎ Coordination and support extend to vaccination, MHPSS and SRH services, when required·
∎ Active involvement in day observation activities·
∎ Check daily inventory of medicines & other equipment
∎ Job Purpose:
∎ The Nurse will work to contribute to an improvement in the overall nursing care of the health facilities through the established clinical practice standards. The Nurse will be responsible for provision of quality nursing care as per set protocols to provide safe, equitable, and high-quality nursing services at the PHCC in accordance with the national Minimum Package of Essential Health Services (MP-EHS) and WHO’s IMCI guidelines, ensuring early identification, treatment, and referral of communicable and non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health concerns, and other primary care needs.
∎ Key Responsibilities:
