Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Conduct scheduled, comprehensive health check-ups at Learning Centres for all learners as per the project plan (half-yearly basis)
∎ Assess learners’ health status, including vital signs monitoring, basic diagnostic assessments, and clinical evaluation
∎ Identify early signs of illness, malnutrition, or other health risks among learners
∎ Ensure privacy, dignity, and safeguarding standards during health assessments
∎ Provide immediate referrals for learners who require further medical evaluation or treatment at PHCs or other specialized health facilities
∎ Maintain accurate and up-to-date individual health records for all learners, including check-up results, vaccination history, referrals, and treatments
∎ Track referred cases and ensure appropriate follow-up is conducted until the learner’s health needs are addressed
∎ Share health records and referral updates with Learning Centre management and relevant health focal points in compliance with data protection and safeguarding policies
∎ Coordinate with Community Health Workers (CHWs) to support learner follow-ups, home visits if needed, and reinforcement of health messages
∎ Link learners and families to additional services (MHPSS, Nutrition, Protection, WASH) as required, collaborating with service providers and Site Management
∎ Provide health education during check-ups to encourage wellness, hygiene, and health-seeking behaviours among learners
∎ Submit regular reports on health check-up activities, referral statistics, challenges encountered, and proposed improvements
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ The Nurse will be responsible for conducting scheduled health check-ups for learners at Learning Centres (LCs) in Camp 1E and Camp 17, supporting early detection of health issues, providing immediate care advice, facilitating referrals for advanced medical attention when required, and maintaining comprehensive health records. The goal is to improve learners' overall well-being, promote health-seeking behaviour, and create a healthier, safer learning environment in alignment with project objectives.
