Job Context:
∎ To lead the Production and QA cell of Acme AI for managing projects, and personnel, and delivering professional quality image labelling outputs.
∎ Acme AI is an on-demand image annotation service provider operating from Bangladesh. We support development of artificial intelligence systems in the space of retail automation, autonomous vehicles, healthcare, geospatial imagery among many more with a focus on computer vision-based labelling operations. We serve clients positioned globally from commercial outfits to academia bodies. As image annotation and labelling company serving clients from different time zones, we stay live nearly for a 24-hour period.
∎ Production and QA serve as the nerve centre of Acme AI`s operations and thus is a critical business function. As part of the cell, we expect you to lead annotation projects, deliver quality annotation works, report to supervisory stakeholders, and offer business support as required. Likewise, as a start-up, we are continuously evolving our workflow to understand effective utilization of business processes where you will play a pivotal role.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ As an Operations Manager, you are responsible for spearheading operational functions and maintain 'quality' outputs as per project benchmark as required. General, KPI-based responsibilities during peak business season include:
∎ Project management
∎ Lead assigned projects as a focal point for all information and communication, inclusive of preparing project documentation
∎ Devise project timeline, inception reports, and completion reports for internal and external stakeholders along with managing man-hour forecast and resources to deliver each project 'perfectly'
∎ Ensure 'timely' outputs every day so that projects are on-track
∎ Report daily output, flag issues, and develop countermeasures to combat those risks
∎ Oversee and approve payment sheet content of contractual workers before sending it for supervisory approval
∎ Cell leader
∎ Work directly in a supervisory capacity to manage both annotators and QAs
∎ Develop benchmarks of both 'quality' and 'agility' for each individual projects
∎ Be the resident expert on the platform we use to work
∎ Ensure labelling works conform to preset quality standards and client expectations
∎ Develop clear policies, processes, metrics, and performance indicators to measure annotation performance and quality
∎ Commission new annotator requisition to human resources for incoming projects and develop project-specific organograms
∎ Deploy counselling sessions for workforces whenever discrepancies present itself
∎ Strategic interventions
∎ Lead incoming pilot projects by testing quality and speed of annotation in those projects
∎ Service as the responsible supervisor of each individual annotator and QAs
∎ Oversee recruitment operations and campaigns of both permanent and contractual workers
∎ Collaborate with MD and COO and other business support SBUs to build on new ideas

∎ Positioned as a top annotator and QA in Acme AI with competitive skills that rivals that of the best annotators in different labelling types. Platform documentation and familiarity will have to be second nature for the incumbent particularly in our preferred platform(s) in order to exert better quality control for annotation projects and outputs.

∎ Provides full line management to a team where all members are working in a similar area of expertise or business. Scope includes planning, setting objectives, role modelling, an inclusive culture, recruitment, and development and performance management.

∎ Develops and reviews the implementation of annual plans for a workgroup or function, considering business and customer requirements and reconciling competing demands.

∎ Able to use a range of nonstandard and creative approaches to inform, and persuade others, extending beyond logical argument to influence decisions and actions in a way which is inclusive and engaging.
∎ Analysing data and problems
∎ Seeks out and examines a range of information to identify patterns, trends and options, to solve multifaceted and complex problems.
∎ Managing projects
∎ Examines project data and performance, reporting on progress and recommending corrective action as needed.

∎ Undergraduate from a business or technology background. We will also highly appreciate tertiary 'certified' courses undertaken from Coursera and edX.
∎ Demonstrated experience managing medium-to-large educated workforces
∎ Demonstrated experience in project management
∎ Deep passion for working in the global artificial intelligence space
∎ Excellent communicator with a good command over English both in comprehension and writing
∎ 2+ years of management experience; we will give preference to people who have worked in the image labelling space before.
