Job Context:
∎ ‘The Right Kind’, a boutique organization with years of experience in the development field will support Bank Asia Limited, a public limited bank to implement a 12 month-long project to introduce a formal financial package for smallholders involved in fish farming and aquaculture market actors with support from Bangladesh Aquaculture and Nutrition Activity (BANA), managed by the WorldFish Center and funded by USAID. The year-long project will reach out to 600 fish-farmers with a formal financial product of the bank through 100 input retailers/dealers/ hatcheries and other market actors in Jashore, Satkhira and Barisal.
∎ The Project Coordinator will be responsible for his/her district and ensure field implementation and uptake of digital technology and financial product. In addition, s/he will supervise Project Officers based in Satkhira and Barisal to successfully implement project activities and monitor the transaction and repayment process. The Project Coordinator will need to have a strong working relationship with representatives from feed companies and other aquaculture market actors. The Project Officer will also support Bank Asia staff to help with the process of loan provision, transaction and repayment. The Project Coordinator will report to Project Advisor.
∎ Contractual till September 30, 2020 (possibility of an extension if successful)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordinate with Bank Asia and donor representatives, as well as with relevant stakeholders such as dealers, retailers, hatcheries to smoothly conduct the activities set forth in the project design
∎ Take a lead in organizing the events and activities on ground
∎ Support the Project Advisor in preparing monthly progress report and project guidelines
∎ Build capacity of the dealers, retailers and other market actors so they can facilitate the loan provision and repayment process
∎ Support the farmers in understanding the process and details about the loan and payment system
∎ Maintain good rapport with government staff, local administration, Bank Asia field staff and other development partners working in similar areas for better coordination and and optimum outcome
∎ Support the Project Advisor and Project Focal Point wherever necessary

Additional Requirements:
∎ Candidate must be hardworking, honest and polite
∎ Minimum 7 years of professional experience in relevant areas, especially with capacity building of dealers and retailers in aquaculture or agriculture. Candidates working around financial inclusion at the field level will be given priority
∎ Background in working as a Supervisor/Manager at the field level for renowned development partners, social enterprises or feed companies or financial institutions in South-west of Bangladesh will be considered as an added advantage
∎ Practical experience in providing training and mentoring community people, and/or fish farmers or other market actors in the aquaculture value chain
∎ Candidates need to travel extensively in public transport. Having a motorcycle will be helpful
∎ Decent writing and communications skills in Bengali and English
∎ Decent skills in computer (MS Word, Excel, Power point), e-mail writing, internet browsing, and handheld-smart devices

Salary:
∎ Negotiable
