Job Context:
∎ Southern Multi Products Limited (SMPL) is seeking a Project Manager (preferably a retired defense officer) for construction of Gas Regulating & Metering Stations along with 7-Kilometer long Pipeline for the purpose of supplying Natural Gas to a new Gas-fired Power Plant at a location in the southern part of Bangladesh.
∎ The Project Manager will be required to report to the Project Director and is responsible for managing assigned construction projects.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Incumbent must have the skills, ability, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities:
∎ Work with field engineers and supervisors to plan, organize and direct activities in accordance with approved construction plans
∎ Monitor and control construction works through administrative directions to ensure the project is completed on schedule and within budget
∎ Represent company in periodical meetings with project team and customers
∎ Obtain customer's approval and maintain good relationship with clients and all other stakeholders
∎ Monitor works of contractors and manage financial aspects of contracts with a view to protecting company's interest
∎ Review and interpret all project-related documents, plans, designs and contract terms and explain those to staffs, supervisors and workers
∎ Uphold and follow all approval procedures, codes, quality controls and safety practices
∎ Formulate plans and generate PDCA and various reports concerning work progress, costs and scheduling as per contractual and engineering guidelines and timelines
∎ Dealing with all hurdles in project implementation
∎ Arrange necessary transports, logistics and ensure timely delivery and shipment of goods and services
∎ Other responsibilities as assigned
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
∎ The candidate should have the following experience, qualifications, knowledge and skills:
∎ At least 2-years' experience in project management
∎ Ability to estimate projects and develop cost proposals
∎ Strong time management and prioritizing abilities
∎ Written & verbal communications skills
∎ Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
∎ Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
∎ Ability to demonstrate team building, leadership and mentoring skills
∎ Proficiency in all project management and administration activities
∎ Ability and willingness to undertake extensive travels for project needs.
