Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ Partners in Health and Development (PHD) is a Bangladeshi development organization has been working in the public health sector for last 32 years and currently implementing different projects in 21 districts. PHD intends to hire a competent Project Coordinator (PC) for Save the Children managed and BMZ funded "BDG Strengthening resilience and social cohesion of Rohingya and host communities in Cox`s Bazar through integrated social services and improved livelihoods" in Ukhiya and Teknaf of Cox`s Bazar district.
∎ Job objective: To provide specialized standard mental health and psychosocial counselling support (MHPSS) to complicated mental health and psychological distress people and provide technical support and guide to Community Health Worker (CHWs) to provide support to community people. The Officer-MHPSS has the responsibility for optimal preventive and psychosocial aid to people with mental health and psychosocial needs in government health facilities and at community level according to principles, standards, and procedures of MOH .S/he is also responsible for supporting community health workers for facilitating group activities with a psychosocial objective and identification & referrals of children and caregivers with mental health related problems. The incumbent will maintain the relevant internal & external coordination and will provide necessary support to project coordinator in reporting. S/he will also provide capacity building training to community volunteers.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Experience with provision MHPSS services in disadvantaged communities
∎ Organize the initial assessment with victims to assess the situation
∎ Refer victims to the appropriate medical services if necessary
∎ Help the Community Health Worker (CHWs) to raise awareness in the community.
∎ Experience with capacity building (organizing and giving trainings and workshop, performing and supportive supervision
∎ Conduct MH assessment to complicated mental disorder to IPD and OPD patients
∎ Provide MHPSS care through counselling
∎ Guide and provide relevant training and session to Counsellor's and Mental Health Community Health Worker
∎ Psychosocial risk assessment and recommendation of mitigating measures
∎ Multi-Stakeholder Communications with Partners, Government & Community
∎ Ensure PSS beneficiaries are captured and need based enrollment for core PSS services with implementation of proper welcoming, active conversation, empathy skills
∎ Establish and maintain coordination with internal component such as SRH, immunization, maternal unit, OPD & IPD to ensure effective referrals and integrated services.
∎ Establish and maintain external mental health service providers to ensure effective referrals
∎ Facilitate group session (awareness session, service promotion) with PSS objectives for patients, caregivers and community members reached by Health & Nutrition facilities
∎ Ensure individual mental health consultation to beneficiaries with mental health need
∎ Ensure need-based follow-up home visit to ensure patient outcome
∎ Ensure the visibility of basic MHPSS info/ message at workplace and provide relevant information to the relevant staffs for enhancing the service quality

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 55 years
∎ At least 3 years' experience within a development organization and psychosocial counselling
∎ Knowledge in various psychological interventions.
∎ Experience working with NGO/INGO in Cox's bazar area is essential (in a counselling role)
∎ Knowledge of counselling and psychosocial support is essential
∎ Ability to remain flexible, and to maintain good spirits in challenging and stressful situations.
∎ Good speaking and writing skills in both Bangla and English

Salary: Tk. 45000 (Monthly)
