Educational Requirements:
∎ A Master's degree in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, or a related field from a reputed university with a strong academic record is required. An MPhil degree in counseling psychology with experience will be considered an additional qualification.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 1 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide individual and group counseling or psychotherapy, crisis intervention, consultation, psychological assessment, psycho-educational services to students with personal, developmental and educational concerns.
∎ Undertaking assessments, including assessments of mental health needs, risk assessment, and psychometric testing;
∎ Formulating a psychological explanation of the client's issues;
∎ Therapy planning and implementation
∎ Evaluating the outcome of therapy;
∎ Establishing a collaborative working relationship with the client based on trust and respect;
∎ Writing reports and record-keeping;
∎ Facilitating workshops on different psychosocial issues.
∎ Organizing workshops and training on timely psycho-educational topics, healthy lifestyles, preventive measures, and positive habits on campus to support and enhance students', faculty members', and staff's academic, professional, social, and personal goals. The following topics are covered: anger management, stress management, exam anxiety, understanding depression, self-confidence, meditation, team building, happiness, acceptance & goal setting, effective communication skills, effective relationship skills, self-love and respect, emotional intelligence, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and other need-based issues.
∎ Arranging seminars as effective medium to create community awareness about mental health issues. Following seminars may be organized on different psychosocial issues to promote mental health awareness.
∎ Seminar on Positive Parenting, Seminar and Workshop on Parenting for Student Success and Wellbeing, Seminar to observe World Mental Health Day, Seminar on Awareness of Drug Dependency.
∎ To maintain proper liaison with the university doctor from time to time as and when required.
∎ Counselor has to maintain professional ethics while providing counseling services to clients.
∎ To make and submit a monthly report of counseling activities to the office of the Registrar and ensure that records are kept in a secure location and that only authorized persons have access to records.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum one year of counseling experience at any reputed university is required.
∎ Proactive, honest, sincere, hard working & Self Motivated
∎ Excellent communication skills in English and Bengali, both oral and written.
∎ Solid knowledge of office procedures, strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude
∎ Ability to keep information about students, staff, and other personal information confidential.
∎ Experience of working in a team and the ability to work with people at all levels, both inside and outside of the university.
∎ Proficiency in MS Office applications and the use of the Internet
