Job Context:
∎ Summary:
∎ The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible for managing a variety of research and product development initiatives related to market-based financing of Water and Sanitation Services (WSS) in Bangladesh and Asia. The research assistant will directly contribute to the production and dissemination of knowledge-based and communication products from Bangladesh, as well as case stories of success, challenges, and innovation, already underway in Bangladesh. The role is particularly important at present given the significant scope for knowledge, learning and communication-based work to do with BRAC Microfinance, Innovative agent-banking-based pilots with FHI 360, and digital finance-based work with BURO Bangladesh, among other initiatives. This is a temporary position of six (06) months, akin to an internship. It is being called the Research Assistant position externally.
∎ This is a contractual position for six (06) months which can be renewed on the basis of both organizational need and RA performance

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The RA will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities:
∎
∎ Conduct research within the areas of technical expertise according to annual research plans and submit research reports, including findings and recommendations, to the country team.
∎ Desk-based and primary research to assess water and sanitation market, financial services market, regulatory environment, and opportunities for direct, collective and systems impact
∎ Landscape assessment and assist with identification of additional stakeholders and/or partners for potential collaboration
∎ Develop and propose new WaterCredit products based on research and evaluation findings
∎ Provide support to the Innovation and Insights team and consultants with the collection and analysis of data
∎ Review and analyze final program evaluation reports and recommend ways to integrate learnings into current programs as well as new program and/or product design
∎ Participate in program monitoring activities to evaluate progress in program implementation using traditional and non-traditional monitoring tools
∎ Provide support to program officers, as needed, with regard to program implementation.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Freshers are encouraged to apply (prior experience is not required for candidates who can think outside the box)
∎ Software skills in Excel, MS Word, Power Point are mandatory, and Stata preferred
∎ Ability to work with a team
∎ Willingness to travel to different parts of Bangladesh

Salary:
∎ The RA will be paid a gross salary of BDT 20,000 per month
