Job Context:
∎ The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is an international Christian organization which is committed to change the lives of persons affected by leprosy. The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh (TLMI-B) is working as development partner of Bangladesh to eliminate the cause and consequences of leprosy. TLMI-B is a member of TLM Global fellowship which is active in over 40 countries to achieve its vision `leprosy defeated, lives transformed`.

∎ TLMI-B is currently implementing 20 projects under 6 programs across 29 districts in 6 divisions of Bangladesh through 350 national staff. According to our current strategic aim, TLMI-B is involved in leprosy control & management, community based rehabilitation, complication management through tertiary care, advocacy and research through those projects. The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh is seeking to fill the vacant position of `Research Coordinator` to be based in Nilphamari District.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ This is a senior position to promote, support and strengthen clinical, operational and social research within the country programme and ensure that the research is linked to international research initiatives.
∎ The post-holder will be responsible for the coordination, supervision and monitoring of research in Bangladesh; national and international collaboration and communication on research issues; the dissemination of research findings in national and international journals, meetings and workshops; promoting research-related learning and development activities, including helping to build research capacity within TLM-Bangladesh.
∎ The post-holder will be expected to design research proposals within the scope of the country strategy and identify research funding opportunities and submit proposals.
∎ The post-holder will be a member TLMI-B medical subcommittee, TLM Global Fellowship Research working group and ad-hoc member of TLMI-B Senior Management team.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Proven professional experience in research implementation & coordination, along with at least 5 years' relevant work experience in as senior research position
∎ Familiarity with leprosy / neglected tropical diseases / infectious diseases and/or disability preferred
∎ Ability to think strategically
∎ Strong quantitative and qualitative research methodology skills
∎ Excellent research protocol development skills & Familiar with IRB procedures
∎ Strong multidisciplinary communication skills (i.e. across clinical, laboratory, community and social research activities).
∎ Excellent team skills and a willingness to share knowledge and ideas
∎ Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
∎ Be in sympathy to the s mission, vision, values and policies of TLMI-B and work accordingly to its beliefs
∎ Proven language proficiency in English and Bangla.

Salary:
∎ The gross salary for this position will be in the range of BDT (75000/ to 80000/-) which is negotiable upon experience and as per organization policy.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ This will be a regular position and be eligible to receive all the benefit and allowances e.g. provident fund, gratuity, festival allowance as per organization policy.
∎ Capacity building opportunity and exposure to research career would be offered for longer commitments.
