∎ Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and proficient Senior Accounting Manager to reinforce and expand our accounting department. The successful candidate will undertake a comprehensive gap analysis in conjunction with the CEO and senior partners, identify potential deficiencies, and strategize to address these gaps. This role includes hiring and managing additional team members to handle the wide range of accounting tasks, reports, and other deliverables. ∎ The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee all aspects of the company`s accounts, particularly focusing on supplier accounts, their payments, and reconciliations. Reporting directly to the CEO and other senior partners, this position requires availability for a night shift, as our CEO is primarily based in the USA. Working hours are Monday - Friday, 8pm to 5am. Only candidates with proficiency in reading and writing in English should apply.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supervise and ensure the timely and accurate recording of all transactions, including bank receipts, disbursements, invoices, intercompany transactions, and others.
∎ Regularly ensure reconciliation of ledgers and bank statements.
∎ Maintain payables reconciliation with suppliers.
∎ Monitor shipment receipt shortages, making necessary adjustments and informing management before payments to suppliers and vendors are made.
∎ Prepare and submit periodic analytical reports to the Managing Director.
∎ Operate and maintain a computerized accounting system / ERP.
∎ Ensure effective communication with the CEO and senior management on all relevant matters.
∎ Carry out the preparation and approval of requisition summaries and disbursement notes.
∎ Exhibit a commitment to high professional and ethical standards in all tasks, including those assigned by management.
∎ Conduct a comprehensive gap analysis of the existing accounting department in collaboration with senior partners and the CEO.
∎ Develop and implement a strategic plan to strengthen and expand the department, addressing identified gaps.
∎ Play a leading role in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members, fostering a supportive and high-performing work environment.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
∎ Proven experience as an Accountant in a Trading Company and as an Accounts Manager / Senior Accounts Executive.
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
∎ Proficiency in spoken and written English, as the role requires international communication with suppliers worldwide.
∎ Ability to commute to our Uttara office and work night shifts Monday to Friday 8pm to 5am. Availability for occasional Saturday shifts may be required during periods of high workload or impending tight deadlines.
∎ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for maintaining records and transactions, and familiarity with ERP systems. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
∎ Practical knowledge of MS Office, Internet, Email, Outlook.
∎ Ability to work independently under pressure and multitask.
∎ Exceptional attention to detail.
∎ Strong leadership abilities to inspire and motivate team members.
∎ High degree of honesty, loyalty, and strong ethical principles.
∎ Proven ability to drive and manage change, exhibiting a track record of successful departmental transformation.
∎ Experience in building cohesive teams and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
