∎ CT Angiography (CTA Brain / Carotid / Thoracic / Abdominal / Coronary)

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Operate high-end multi-slice CT (128 and 256 Slices) scanners and high-field (3T) MRI machines according to established imaging protocols.
∎ Perform daily startup, calibration and warm-up procedures for all CT and MRI equipment.
∎ Adjust technical parameters (e.g., kVp, mAs, slice thickness, FOV, TR, TE, matrix size) to optimize image quality based on clinical indications.
∎ Select appropriate imaging protocols and sequences based on clinical indications and referring physician notes.
∎ Modify standard protocols for complex or non-routine exams to ensure diagnostic quality while minimizing scan time and patient exposure (in CT).
∎ Accurately position patients and select appropriate coils and immobilization devices for MRI scans.
∎ Perform scout/localizer scans and align scan planes for axial, coronal, sagittal, or oblique imaging.
∎ Ensure proper centering, alignment, and region-of-interest (ROI) coverage.
∎ Prepare and administer IV contrast agents (iodinated for CT, gadolinium-based for MRI) under proper safety protocols.
∎ Monitor patients for any adverse contrast reactions and be prepared to initiate emergency protocols if needed.
∎ Transfer images to PACS and ensure completeness and correct labeling of series.
∎ Perform post-processing tasks including subtraction imaging, diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), and functional MRI (fMRI) techniques when applicable.
∎ Perform regular system QA/QC checks in compliance with manufacturer and departmental guidelines.
∎ Identify technical faults, minor errors, or artifacts and apply first-line troubleshooting measures.
∎ Coordinate with service engineers and biomedical engineering for preventive maintenance and repairs.
∎ Implement radiation dose reduction techniques (ALARA principle) during CT scanning.
∎ Enforce MRI safety protocols including screening for implants, ferromagnetic objects, and contraindications.
∎ Maintain zone-based access control in the MRI suite and manage MR safety checklists.
∎ Maintain accurate technical logs, QA records, and equipment usage reports.
∎ Document scan parameters, dose reports (CTDIvol, DLP), and contrast volumes for each procedure.
