Job Context:
∎ We are currently hiring for the position of Senior Merchandiser (Product Development) at our HQ, in the heart of Dhaka. Join our family and build an inspired career you`re proud of.
∎ The Senior Merchandiser (Product Development) holds the accountability for working closely with our customers, partner factories and suppliers to develop our product range for both Knit & Woven categories. The incumbent will be responsible for driving product development focusing on fit, component development, quality, cost, performance / durability, and sourcing.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Independently manage research and product development, understand latest fashion trends, and develop customer specific collections
∎ Ensure smooth communications with customers and suppliers on day-to-day merchandising activities and approvals
∎ Understand customer requirements and closely work with design team to manage the correct samples within timelines and quality
∎ Set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities
∎ Accomplish and oversee the merchandising cycle (File / Record keeping / Sampling / T&As / QA file making etc.)
∎ Engage in costing and price negotiation with customers and vendors and prepare costing sheets with all the necessary breakdowns from factories
∎ Ensure all suppliers are using nominated sources for trims
∎ Provide monthly intelligence report to the business on actual and potential rises and falls in current cost factors
∎ Coordinate and monitor quality of the product through quality personnel
∎ Follow-up TNA on regular basis to ensure on-time delivery with right quality and quantity
∎ Select and visit different fabric/textile mills, production, printing, washing factories and build long-term relationships for current and future orders
∎ Regularly evaluate factory performance and source and develop new factories as per requirements
∎ Coordinate all phases of development utilizing the available resources
∎ Recommend any changes to the products or process improvements, which can help make production friendlier for construction without changing the aesthetics of the garment
∎ Analyze customer progress report in terms of growth/shortcomings/product and price points, get customer feedback on inquiries and close the orders with clarity on cost/ margin
∎ Review new tech packs and developments to identify any critical points and provide the right details to the factory
∎ Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization
∎ Identify areas for improvement and develop/adapt new ways of working

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 7 years merchandising/product development experience, preferably in a reputed buying office in Knits/Woven category.
∎ Must have extensive experience of product development, sourcing of materials, costing of small/large volume orders, and various styles orders independently.
∎ Must be knowledgeable of garments construction and costing, specifically Knit/Woven fabric properties, fabric printing, and surface applications (e.g., heat transfer, embroideries, screen-printing).
∎ Profound knowledge of Knit/Woven garment engineering and production processes is required.
∎ Have sound knowledge of fabrics and an excellent network of fabric, print, embroidery & trims suppliers.
∎ Should have excellent understanding of technical / production process
∎ Should have a passion for product development, an eye for styles/details and fits.
∎ Should be able to handle MIS entries
∎ Must be capable to handle buyers independently in tremendous pressure with aggressive marketing attitude
∎ Must have skills in examining and establishing proper merchandising operations and procedures
∎ Good understanding of core business aspects
∎ Should have ideas about effective communication for raw materials booking and delivery
∎ Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships and work as a team
∎ Should be well-groomed, smart, and energetic
∎ Strong presentation and delivery skills
∎ Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
∎ IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
∎ Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
∎ Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines
