Job Context:
∎ Reportable to : Country Director
∎ Contract tenure: Fixed Term for 02 years with possibility of extension
∎ WaterAid Bangladesh (WAB) is looking for a dynamic, committed and self-driven individual for the role of `Strategic Support Specialist` for its country office in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
∎ This position will provide analytical and knowledge management support across multiple functions, including policy advocacy, programme development, fundraising and organisational strategy. Additionally, the position will capture, process, document and disseminate, both internally and externally, potential knowledge, learning and lessons emerging out of WaterAid`s work in Bangladesh and represent WaterAid in different knowledge sharing platform.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Identify and analyse policy areas related to SDG 6, and develop briefs/thought pieces/reports and other knowledge products for wider dissemination
∎ Monitor trends and developments in WASH progress and financing, including review of publications/reports from government, think-tanks, UN agencies, CSOs, etc.
∎ Provide analytical input and overall support towards organisational programme and strategy development
∎ Contribute to documentation of strategically important organisational experiences
∎ Support the six monthly and annual reviews and other organisational PMER processes
∎ Support fundraising, including identifying relevant opportunities, designing projects and preparing concept notes/proposals.
∎ Manage selected advocacy grant, ensuring proper and timely completion of project deliverables, internal and donor reporting, and proper financial management
∎ Liaise with sector actors and represent organization in meetings, consultations, etc.
∎ Present research/knowledge products in conferences
∎ Enhance collaboration with CSOs, academia, and other platforms to generate evidence towards increased WASH investments and interventions
∎ Perform any other assignment as assigned by the supervisor

Additional Requirements:
∎ 07 (seven) years years working experience in analytical/research capacity with reputed NGO/INGO, development partners, or think-tanks. However, this may be relaxed for the potential applicant with good academic achievement.
∎ Clear conception, updated knowledge on knowledge management, research methodology and application of participatory tools and techniques.
∎ Experience and/or understanding of the issues relating to water, sanitation and hygiene in national and global context.
∎ Ability to share research findings and disseminate learnings to different audiences including community people, development actors, government officials, donor agencies, researchers and academicians.
∎ Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised (or with less supervision); be innovative and proactive and learn new ways of working.
∎ Professional and Technical Skills:
∎ Ability to establish good relationship and rapport with stakeholders and partners; allure cooperation from other teams and maintain network outside the organization.
∎ Skills to use different technological resources (computer, multimedia projector, internet, email, computer aided systems, widely used software etc).
∎ Excellent presentation and oral communication skills both in Bangla and English; outstanding writing and documentation skills in English are essential.
∎ Excellent facilitation skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
∎ Knowledge and skills of planning and budgeting.
∎ Personal Competencies:
∎ Good team building spirit and problem-solving skills; should be able to draw confidence and support from others.
∎ Must be a person who is self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and capacity to understand and walk with people from all walks of life.
∎ Possess personal integrity, flexible attitude, sense of transparency, proactive stance and respect for gender and organizational cultural.
∎ Competent to make effective decisions, uphold organizational values, promote integrity and advance organizational mission and vision.
