Responsibilities & Context:
∎ As the Technical officer marine protection, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of project activities within the marine protection. Key responsibilities include:
∎ Community Engagement and Planning for Legal aid services
∎ Assist the Project Manager in planning, monitoring, and supervising the implementation of project activities specially in marine protection.
∎ Assist to identify potential fisherfolks, select appropriate climate-resilient and resource-efficient cleaner production (RECP) practices for fisherfolks and motivate them to adopt those practices.
∎ Provide technical support to fisherfolks at cluster level.
∎ Select fisherfolks for demonstration, set-up demonstration, and follow-up the fisherfolks.
∎ Prepare training manuals, leaflets, case stories of the sub-project.
∎ Impart training on new/improved climate-resilient, resource-efficient and cleaner production aquaculture, GAqP/GLP/GMP, climate change vulnerability, etc.
∎ Assist in organizing field days, exposure visits, meetings, workshops, seminars, fairs, Environment Club meetings, etc.
∎ Explore circular economy, value-added product diversification, and new market potentiality.
∎ Assist to produce monthly, quarterly, and annual progress report as per the requirement of the management.
∎ Regular field visit at project areas, tracking the fisherfolks progress in adoption of the RECP practices and reporting.
∎ Make the market linkages for the easy sales of the fisherfolks’ fishes.
∎ Capacity Building:
∎ Provide training and mentorship to project staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries to enhance their skills and knowledge related to new/improved climate-resilient, resource-efficient and cleaner production aquaculture, GAqP/GLP/GMP, climate change vulnerability
∎ Support the development of sustainable income-generating opportunities for the fisherfolk
∎ Networking and Partnerships:
∎ Maintain linkages with different government departments (i.e. DoF, BFRI, DoE), academicians, value-chain actors (hatchery owners, inputs sellers, market actors, transporter etc.), private sector companies, etc.
