Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Logistic and Procurement Officer, this position will undertake the following tasks:
∎ Warehouse Operations Management:
∎ Manage the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of nutrition-related supplies, such as Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), nutritional supplements, medicine, and other related materials.
∎ Maintain a well-organized and safe storage area, ensuring proper segregation, labeling, and handling of supplies.
∎ Ensure that warehouse facilities comply with hygiene, safety, and security standards.
∎ Inventory Management:
∎ Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including stock movements, quantities, and shelf-life of supplies.
∎ Regularly monitor stock levels and coordinate with the logistics and program team to anticipate supply needs and prevent stockouts.
∎ Conduct periodic physical counts (e.g., weekly, or monthly) to verify inventory levels and reconcile with system data.
∎ Implement robust stock rotation practices (e.g., First-In, First-Out - FIFO) to minimize wastage.
∎ Supply Chain Coordination:
∎ Coordinate with the logistics and program team to ensure the timely and safe delivery of nutrition supplies to INFs, SCs and other program delivery points.
∎ Support the preparation and organization of shipments for distribution and ensure adherence to SHED and UNICEF’s logistics protocols.
∎ Assist in developing forecasts for stock needs based on program projections and consumption patterns.
∎ Reporting and Documentation:
∎ Provide regular reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and warehouse operations, highlighting any challenges or discrepancies.
∎ Ensure that all relevant documentation (e.g., delivery notes, stock receipts, dispatch logs) is accurately maintained and readily accessible for audit purposes.
∎ Assist in the preparation of reports for UNICEF and other stakeholders, as required.
∎ Safety and Compliance:
∎ Implement and monitor safety protocols in the warehouse to minimize accidents and ensure compliance with local and international standards.
∎ Ensure all warehouse operations are in compliance with SHED, UNICEF, and local regulatory standards.

∎ Identify and resolve any logistical challenges or delays in the warehousing process.

∎ Job Context:
∎ Reporting to the Logistic and Procurement Officer, the Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse supporting the Integrated Nutrition Intervention program. This includes managing the receipt, storage, inventory control, and distribution of nutrition supplies and other commodities in accordance with SHED and donor guidelines. The Warehouse Assistant will ensure efficient warehouse operations, contribute to effective logistics planning, and ensure that the supply chain meets program requirements in a timely and transparent manner.
