Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Carrying out tasks directly related to the Watsan activities such as construction and maintenance of infrastructures in the project according to MSF protocols and standards concerning the operation of water supply, waste management and excreta disposal, hygiene and infection control.
∎ Ensuring the cleaning and maintenance of the Watsan structures and when applicable, of the medical facilities;
∎ Identifying, recruiting, training and supervising daily labourers or hygiene agents for Watsan activities
∎ Informing the Watsan Supervisor of any difficulties, anomalies and problems that may affect the normal functioningof activities and tasks in his/her area of responsibility;
∎ Assisting the Watsan Supervisor in Watsan data collection and reporting, as well as maintaining updated filesand records of assigned project activitiesBeing responsible for equipment, tools, and consumables, verifying that they are safely used and maintained. Reporting to the supervisor any need of renewal and the weekly/monthly consumptionWater Supply:
∎ Ensure daily safe water supply in Goyalmara hospital (Drinking and Supply water) with proper chlorination.
∎ Repair and maintenance of the water supply pipeline network and equipment (Plumbing work) basedon the requirement.
∎ Collect the water sample according to the SOP and sending to OCA lab with support from Watsan supervisor.
∎ Ensure the documentation of water supply activity by keeping record in data sheet (Water consumption, FRC, Chlorine use) Waste management:
∎ Ensure proper segregation of the daily waste and safe disposal of the waste is done by watsan agents.
∎ Ensure proper operating of the incinerator is done by the watsan agents, according to the standard procedures·
∎ Follow up the regular cleaning and disinfecting the empty waste bin, keep clean the waste area and clear of rubbish and vector.
∎ Regular follow of the deep cleaning of watsan respective area.
∎ IPC support with transportation of corpses.
∎ Ensure proper record of the daily waste for the documentation and reporting.Vector Control:
∎ Ensuring hospital area free of Vector and support of watsan agents and watsan supervisor
∎ Ensure the IRS spraying in the hospital and facility is done twice a year.Technical Support:
∎ Ensure the watsan team is using Personal Protective Equipment in workplace properly and provide support if needed.
∎ Support the watsan agents in understanding and following of the Standard of Procedures and guidelines of the watsan activities.
